He’s done it again! A few days ago, the sports commentator had called the “Bad Blood” singer a major “distraction” for not only Travis Kelce but the Kansas City Chiefs as well. And now Skip Bayless, on his latest podcast episode, not only not recant his position but went out full guns blazing at the celebrity couple. He better hope that his comments do not reach the ears of Swifties, who will be out for vengeance for speaking about their icon in such a manner.
But some of the criticism he dished out against the Chiefs’ tight end did seem to be valid. Over the past six games, #87’s performance has been on the decline and he has not managed to score a single touchdown in those games. So, what did Bayless say about the Traylor saga?

The Skip Bayless Show opened with Bayless’ sharp tongue, spitting fire against his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. But towards the end of the podcast, he shifted his ire onto the Chiefs’ tight end. The analyst laid part of the blame for Chiefs’ declining situation on Kelce’s lover, Taylor Swift, and Kelce himself, stating, “She’s a distraction because he’s a distraction.” He said that the TE has not been playing at the same level as he was playing last year. “Travis at times, seems like he’s got one foot in and one foot out.” Could it be that Kelce is planning things beyond football, as Bayless said, “he feels semi-retired.” But does this statement hold any truth?
Kelce is going on 35 and already has two Super Bowl rings. He has contemplated retirement in the past but failed to take any decisive action. The tight end said that he is already preparing for life. Bayless also pointed out that Kelce has been spotted in a lot of ads lately and that is because of something his managers had revealed. Bayless further quoted one of Kelce’s managers, who had said, “We position Travis to become world famous.”
The Chiefs as a team also have not been performing at the same level as last year, and Bayless theorized that Swift was the reason for it.

Is Taylor Swift the reason for the Chiefs’ poor performance?
Bayless went further on his earlier attack on Swift and said that whenever she was at any of the Chiefs’ games, she does not make herself anonymous or stay in the shadows, but that she “loves being on camera”. He also accused her of “overacting” and bringing “full on Taylor Swift, the entertainer”.
And it doesn’t seem like he is too off the mark. Last year, the Chiefs’ offense was numero uno in terms of yards per game and points per game, but this year they have fallen to 9th and 12, respectively. Although they have managed to clinch a playoff berth, is it time for them to panic as they endeavor to defend their Super Bowl crown?
