The case against Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, just took another turn. What started as an investigation into alleged se–al offenses is now pulling in more names. A lawsuit filed in the Northern District of California has now named NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. as a defendant along with others.

The lawsuit document, which was posted by ‘On3’, has Beckham Jr’s name mentioned in the defendant’s section. The document stated: “Defendant Odell Beckham Jr. is an individual who resides in and is domiciled in Florida (previously referred to as John Doe in Plaintiff Parham’s original complaint).”

To the people who are unaware–a woman named Ashley Parham filed a complaint against the rapper and singer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. This came to the US District Court in Northern California on October 16. She alleged that the rapper, along with others, brutally assaulted her because she suggested that Diddy was involved in the alleged m—– of his rival, rapper Tupac Shakur.

Along with Odell Beckham Jr., other names such as Diddy’s Chief of Staff Kristina Khorram, Shane Pierce, and Ruben Valdez are all accused of being involved in the case. But what is happening with Beckham Jr. on the NFL front?

Odell Beckham Jr’s troubles on the field

On the NFL front, Odell Beckham Jr is currently a free agent. The Miami Dolphins waived him in December after registering only nine catches for 55 yards in nine games. He had signed a one-year, $3m deal with the team in May. But he started the season on the physically unable to perform list after an offseason knee surgery. But that doesn’t paint the complete picture.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s NFL journey has been a tale of dazzling highs and frustrating lows. When he first burst onto the scene with the New York Giants in 2014, OBJ wasn’t just good—he was electric. His iconic one-handed catch against the Cowboys turned him into an overnight sensation. It wasn’t just a flash in the pan. OBJ backed it up with elite production, recording five 1,000-yard seasons in his first six years. During that stretch, he racked up an impressive 48 touchdowns, cementing himself as one of the league’s most dynamic receivers.

But then, injuries really started to take their toll on Beckham’s career. After lighting it up with the Giants, things just didn’t click the same way in Cleveland. His time with the Browns was a mixed bag—flashes of brilliance, sure, but also plenty of time spent nursing injuries. The real gut punch came in 2020 when he tore his ACL, throwing his career off track.

He did manage a solid comeback with the Rams, even snagging a Super Bowl ring. But just when it seemed like he was back on solid ground, things unraveled again. By 2024, the struggles piled up. A knee surgery in the offseason landed him on the PUP list, and from there, things never really took off.
