Are the Giants doomed under Daboll, or can they turn this disastrous season around?

The problems for the Giants aren’t ending. On Saturday, November 23, they officially released Daniel Jones and played Tommy DeVito during the week 12 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, HC Brian Daboll has come under fire for his actions. It seems like everyone has lost hope in the head coach. Is there a way back? Might not be.

SNY reporter Connor Hughes launched a scathing attack not only on Daboll but also on the GM Joe Schoen. While describing the situation, he said, “A few weeks ago, Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen received votes of confidence from John Mara, essentially barring unforeseen circumstances, the two would be back for the team in 2025. Those unforeseen circumstances are here.” The situation has dropped to the lowest of lows. Fans couldn’t believe what they saw in the week 12 matchup.

Baker Mayfield & Co. thrashed their rivals in every aspect. At the end of the 3rd quarter, they were 30-0. Yes, you read that right. The defense was clueless. In the 3rd quarter, DE Kalijeh Cancey recovered a fumble and made a 95-yard play to score a touchdown. A touchdown came in the 4th quarter, making the final score 30-7. But the game was far beyond their reach by then. But it’s not the story of this season only.

Hughes pointed out a historical fact that will make you hold your head in wonder. Negatively! With 2 wins and 9 losses, they have the worst season since 1979, with at least 16 games. That year, they finished the season 6-10. If we look at the current team, they will have to work hard to avoid that unwanted record. There is a dissent building inside the locker room as a rookie has complained about the team’s playing style.

Malik Nabers attacks Giants amid Brian Daboll’s criticism

Are the Giants doomed under Daboll, or can they turn this disastrous season around?

Have an interesting take?

The 6th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, WR Malik Nabers, hadn’t anticipated such a debacle. But the 6-game losing streak is taking a toll on him. Unable to control his emotions after the disappointing loss, he vented his frustration at getting the ball by calling them “soft as f—” and added, “First, second quarter, I don’t get the ball. Start getting targets at the end. I mean, can’t do nothing. Start getting the ball when it’s 30-0. What do you want me to do?” That’s right.

Against the Bucs, he had 9 targets with 6 rushes for 42 yards. All of his targets came in the second half. HC Brian Daboll was asked about the receiver’s mindset in the post-game presser. He accepted the fault in his game plan and said, “The game got away from us and turned into a pass-a-thon, which is not what we want to do.

Things aren’t well at the franchise. The head coach might also get fired if he doesn’t make quick changes. Otherwise, the Giants might finish last among the NFL teams in 2024.
