The defeated coaches are currently avoiding discussions about their job security. After the Pittsburgh Steelers lost their divisional round chances to the Buffalo Bills, coach Mike Tomlin didn’t seem interested in talking about his leftover contract with the team. Similarly, the Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni sidestepped his job security concerns.
The Eagles lost in their away game with a disappointing 32-9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to multiple reports, it seemed the Eagles weren’t even interested in the win after the first half. Their poor tackling, inconsistent offensive output, and underwhelming defense, along with some injuries, all contributed to their loss on Monday. Amid this loss, the clouds of job security are looming over coach Sirianni, who doesn’t seem to be worried about it much.

In a post-game press conference, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni talked about their recent wildcard round loss to Tampa Bay. During the presser, he was asked about his future coaching with the team. To which Sirianni replied, “I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about the guys.” Heartbroken coach remembered his players, saying, “All the guys in that locker room. Every single one of them has put their heart and soul to this. I’m not worried about me.”
He expressed his focus on supporting his team and staff during a challenging time. Furthermore, Sirianni mentioned his empathy for the players, acknowledging the collective disappointment in their performance on Monday.

Sirianni joined the Eagles in 2021, and inked a five-year contract, valued at $35 million, through the 2025 season. However, when the Eagles were facing a rough patch on their road to the playoffs last month, many criticized the coach and even asked for his firing.
Although the entire team supported Sirianni, it was their belief in the coach that helped the squad to reach the playoffs. But now, as they lost the season again this time, the 42-year-old is facing backlashes again. But this time, he skipped commenting on his future possibilities with the team and chose to be with his team during the loss instead.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Steelers coach Mike Tomlin too chose not to speak on his job security concerns after the loss on Monday.

In his post-game news conference, the Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, avoided discussing his contract. The 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills was disappointing for the Steelers. Despite a second-half rally, the team faced another early playoff exit, raising questions about coach Tomlin’s ability to lead them further.

However, Tomlin, whose contract extends until 2024, showed no interest in addressing these concerns during the presser. When ESPN’s Brooke Pryor prefaced a question to Tomlin: “Mike, you have a year left on your contract…,” Tomlin stormed out of the press conference without even hearing the full question.
