Just one loss for the Philadelphia Eagles and people started talking about how Jalen Hurts might not be the best fit for the Eagles going forward. Hurts, who has helped the Eagles become the number one team in the division with a 10-2 record might not be starting the next couple of games. At least David Carr seems to think so! Per him, Marcus Mariota might just get a real chance to stardom after the last game with the 49ers.
The 49ers came to Philly, and it was a complete blow out. The final 42-19 score looked like the Eagles forgot to practice for this game. Or maybe Hurts is not the correct choice for the requirements of the team. According to Carr, Hurts is not exactly in a condition to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl. So, is Nick Sirianni looking for alternatives?
After the 49ers blowout, should Jalen Hurts take a backseat?

David Carr pointed out that the only way for the Eagles to make it to the Super Bowl is for Jalen Hurts to be more dynamic and improving his run game. Per Carr, Hurts is bad at reading defense on drop back passes. Carr’s reasoning behind this is the Eagles inability to run the ball deep in the opposition’s end zone.

Jalen Hurts has a problem of a torn ACL and he hasn’t been able to give his 100% and considering this, David Carr suggested the Eagles should give Marcus Mariota a chance. Per him, give the current conditions of the Eagles, the 49ers will beat them again if they were to have a rematch.
Things turned hypothetical when Carr was asked how things would turn out if Nick Sirianni would have this conversation with Hurts about benching him. Carr commented how things would be awkward for Hurts and the Eagles, but at the same time, Sirianni has to undergo these hard conversations and do what’s best for the team.
Commenting on their recent performance, the QB said, “They didn’t run the football at all, twice? That’s not it man! That’s not the winning edge.” So, does this mean that Jalen Hurts is getting benched? Well, no indication of sorts have been shown by the Eagles side yet. The Eagles are playing the Dallas Cowboys next, and they would need to bring out their A-game if they want to beat them.

What’s the problem with Philly’s offense?
The Eagles have a serious problem with their rushing game. Till Week 10, the Eagles’ offense ranked no. 7 in the league. Leading up to the same week, the Eagles average about 130 yards per game, which dropped to about 86 yards per game.
Jason Kelce was pretty vocal about this burning hole in Eagles’ offense. Their inability to score in the red zone has become a problem that they need to sort out if they want to make it to the Super Bowl.
