NFL insider Mike Florio came down hard on Bill Belichick’s prospects in the league. The New England Patriots raised the curtain on Bill Belichick’s legacy. After a horrendous regular season, Bill Belichick and the Patriots mutually said goodbye, finally breaking ties. Everybody thought a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach would be on every team’s most wanted list, but the reality is quite different.

Only one team, the Atlanta Falcons, came forward and showed their interest in Bill Belichick. Those talks didn’t bear fruits, leaving Bill Belichick’s future as a head coach hanging by a thread. On the “Dan Patrick Show,” Mike Florio addressed the situation surrounding Bill Belichick.

Dan Patrick asked Mike Florio the hot question, “What are the odds of that Belichick, Vrabel, and Pete Carroll don’t have jobs next season?” Mike Florio acknowledged that Pete Carroll “has got no sniffs anywhere.” He addressed Vrabel’s situation next, “I think Vrabel got a chance in Seattle.” He started explaining the problem relating to Bill Belichick, “How do you put guard rails on Bill Belichick at this point in his life? How do you gonna make him a head coach and say  you just gonna be a head coach, you are not gonna run the show, and he (Belichick) says fine.”

He further shed light on Bill Belichick’s nature as he will not go along with other’s leadership and can downplay even the GM of a team. He added, “I don’t think there is a team that trusts the ability of Belichick to work in a structure where he is not fully in charge because he spent the last two decades fully in charge of the Patriots.” Mike Florio said, “That’s why only one (Falcons) talked to him, and no one is gonna hire him.” Mike Florio gave his insights on what Bill Belichick can do if he does not coach.

Mike Florio stated that to hire Bill Belichick, “You are gotta be willing to let Belichick run the football team.” As this is difficult for an established team to pull off, Dan Patrick asked Florio about Belichick’s future, “If you’re gonna bet where Belichick is, I’d say in the next few years.”

Mike Florio quickly replied, “I think he is gonna end up in TV this year.” He added, “I can see him joining the NFL Network, working there for a year, and then see what happens in the 2025 hiring cycle.” Florio knows that Bill Belichick is aging, and teams will consider this. That’s why he advised Belichick, “Maybe he needs to show and prove to people that he is kind of humbled himself down.”
