It takes a special dash of brilliance to come back big time when a team gets booed off the field at halftime by their fans at their opposition’s home soil. That was the reception QB Jalen Hurts‘ Philadelphia Eagles endured only to return with what coach Nick Sirianni dubbed as “the big one” in the end. For what was worth, after the OT touchdown, Hurts—who is reported to have been reeling through a bruised knee throughout the season—was able to win back many hearts that night. Now standing strong with 10 wins and one defeat, they are first-seed contenders in the NFC.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has always been big on praise for Hurts. On November 20 when they were defeated by the Eagles, the former’s QB admitted,  “That’s a great football team (…) at the same time, we went up against one of the best, if not the best NFC team.” Continuing their winning momentum, the Eagles secured a thrilling victory against the Buffalo Bills, 37-34. Meanwhile, Mahomes made a prediction that turned out to be just plain accurate; the Kelce brothers were left stunned!

In the ‘New Heights’ podcast, Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce discussed the game between the Eagles and the Bills. The nail-biting game went to overtime, concluding with a Jalen Hurts’ touchdown. Travis Kelce revealed, “I was sitting on the plane with a fellow by the name of Patrick Mahomes. We were watching the game and right before the play happened, Pat screams, ‘QB draw.’“

Hearing this, Jason Kelce was stunned and added, “No, he doesn’t. He knew it by the motion or he just knew?”

Sharing further details, the younger Kelce brother said, “He just knew whatever the check was. I’m not sure I gotta ask him, but he knew it was going to be QB draw.” And Hurts’ overtime TD ensured the Eagles’ victory in the nail-biting matchup.

Jalen Hurts against the Bills

The game was tied at 31-31 at the end of the fourth quarter. Then the game moved to overtime, where the Buffalo Bills placekicker’s field goal got the Bills in the lead by 34-31. With two minutes and 37 seconds left in the overtime, Jalen Hurts rushed for a 12-touchdown, bringing the Eagles into the lead with 37-34. 

However, the Bills almost won the game until Hurts displayed his A-Game. He completed three touchdowns for 200 yards. Overall, in the 2023 NFL season, Hurts has boasted 2,697 yards and 18 touchdowns.
