Travis Kelce is going on 35 years old! But does that mean he is thinking of retiring from football? No way! Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs had a #1 AFC seed. This year, however, they have a #2 seed. So, they won’t just get to jump to the divisional round. They will have to face the Miami Dolphins first.

Ahead of the Wild Card round, how are the preparations? But a reporter sneaked in a question that Kelce is, no doubt, used to by now. How did he respond to it?

Ever since Taylor Swift entered his life, it’s been chaotic. And it’s been a lot of fun as well. A reporter asked him if he had thought about retirement. The jovial Kelce laughed at first. He threw a question back at the media and asked if they thought about retirement. According to him, if they didn’t, then they were to be blamed. His life may be going through a lot of changes right now, but there’s one thing he doesn’t want to change. And that’s football. “I have no desire to stop any time soon,” Kelce said.

He did not just leave the reporter at that. He also outlined three reasons why football and him are not going to part ways anytime soon. “We still have success.” The Chiefs may not be the same team they were last year, but they’re still the #2 seed. And they’ve won two Super Bowls in the last five years. They are nowhere near their peak.

Reason number two was his love for the game. Kelce was drafted in 2013. He has been in the league for a decade now. With the average career of an NFL player being just 3 years, his passion is one thing that keeps him going. And his third reason was the challenge the game gave him to give his best each time. But, if he were to retire, what would he do?

What does Kelce’s life after football looks like?

He admitted to the reporters that the physicality of the game was unforgiving on his body. Kelce himself thinks about retirement “more than anyone could imagine”. During his football career itself, he has done a lot of stuff outside of the gridiron as well. Both Kelce and Swift served as guest hosts on SNL. He has his popular podcast New Heights podcast and a ton of brand endorsements.

But what did Travis say he would do after retirement? “I’ve been fortunate to do a few things outside the sports world that I’ve been enjoying, like getting on camera, the SNL stuff.” And what helps him strike a balance between football and life? During the season, he’s committed to football. And during the off season? Per Kelce,“That’s the point of the offseason, being able to get out there and find what you love to do.”
