A coach walks into the locker room after snatching the Lamar Hunt Trophy. “We got some unfinished business to handle.” That was enough for the Eagles‘ HC, Nick Sirianni, to fill adrenaline into his team. Yes, the games they’ve played and the victories they’ve earned haven’t come easy. The opponents were tough—really tough. But Nick has done it again. From hearing “fire Nick” to a second Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles are ready for redemption on February 9.

Nick Sirianni is a student of the game. He knows he’ll be going up against a coach who’s literally one of the best in the business. But Andy Reid took 14 seasons to give the Eagles a single Super Bowl appearance, while Nick did it in just four seasons—not once, but twice. I know, I know, Andy still has more rings than him. But Nick Sirianni is not shy about giving him his flowers. In a recent X post by SportsRadio 94WIP, something similar was shared: “I would say he and Bill Belichick are the best coaches of all time, ever, as I look at it.

A person doesn’t reach that level of greatness with just numbers. You need the wisdom to understand and respect your opponents for what they do. Andy Reid recently showcased this in a post-game conference. When a reporter asked him, “What ways are the Eagles different than when you saw them in a Super Bowl two years ago?” Andy humbly replied, “They’ve got a running back that arguably is one of the best in the history of the game. Then their quarterback is dialing it up right now, so whatever injuries he had early in the season, I mean, he’s playing like crazy right now. So, that’s a heck of an offense, and another huge challenge for us.

See, we told you—Nick Sirianni is a student of the game because the masters know how to praise back. Andy knows the Eagles have some trouble waiting for them in the O-line. He’s obviously talking about Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. Barkley’s performance in the NFC Championship game was insane. He’s now seventh all-time in rushing yards with 442 rushing yards and a finalist for the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards. Andy also analyzed Jalen Hurts’ comeback from his early-season finger dislocation. Will Jalen Hurts be able to grasp this second chance? New Orleans will be the witness.

What on Nick Sirianni’s QB head before the game?

Jalen Hurts has been a complete menace so far. When haters doubted his performance, his performance gave silent uppercuts to each criticism. His confidence is undeniable, and the results speak for themselves. Hurts’ 91.4 PFF overall grade and 91.6 PFF passing grade against the Commanders were season-high marks. Even better than Jayden Daniels, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen. He’s proving to the world that his game is on another level, and the stakes only motivate him more.

Nick Sirianni vs. Andy Reid: Who's the real mastermind behind the Eagles' Super Bowl dreams?

Have an interesting take?

But hey, football’s not an individual sport, right? If it were all up to Jalen Hurts, his performance the last time these two teams crossed paths should’ve been enough. Oh, you don’t remember? Hurts put up 3 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. With 20 points, he literally tied the record for most points scored by a single player in the Super Bowl saga. But clearly, it wasn’t enough because the Chiefs bested them with a 38-35 victory. They won by 3 points, exactly how they beat the Bills in their recent matchup, 32-29. Are they just snatching away 3 points, or will they snatch the three-peat too?

Jalen was asked about his thoughts regarding the upcoming Judgement Day in a post-game conference. “I just think you have to give a ton of gratitude. These are my personal testimonies… but clearly, as a team, the mission is to go take advantage of the opportunities we present ourselves with.” That’s a true sportsman right there. Even when the pressure is high, Hurts knows it’s all about seizing the moment and not losing the chance to win that second Lombardi.
