Nick Sirianni recently revealed his comprehensive role within the team. The reporter asked, “If the OC will be in charge of the offense, and DC in charge of the defense, what will your role be?” Sirianni’s reply was insightful when asked how his responsibilities might differ from those of the offensive and defensive coordinators.

He affirmed, “My job is to be the head coach of the team. Not HC of the offense, not HC of the defense, but HC of the football team.” He elaborated, “Head Coach of the football team… I guess it will be very similar to what it is now,” indicating a continuity in his approach. Sirianni also mentioned the possibility of varying his involvement across different team segments.

He added, “Does that mean sitting in on defensive meetings at times? Maybe. Instead of always being in offensive meetings?” Not to mention, the OC Brian Johnson was recently fired. Nick was asked about Jalen Hurts’ reaction to it. He also shared his comments on that.

The firing was particularly poignant due to Johnson’s long-standing relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts. When asked about Hurts’ reaction to the decision, Sirianni refrained from elaborating. He suggested that inquiries should be directed to Hurts himself.
