The Eagles flew high. Jalen Hurts and Co. handed Jordan Love and the Packers the defeat of the season. Beating them 22-10, the ‘Iggles’ have made it to the divisional round. After the game, the Eagles HC Nick Sirianni wasn’t out there popping bottles or throwing a victory parade. (Not the kind of celebration you’d expect from a team that just won). Instead, he had his eyes set on what still needs work.

It was like that scene in 8 Mile when Eminem’s character steps up to the mic, but he knows the real battle is still ahead. Nick Sirianni’s feelings toward his team weren’t exactly thrilled. Why? Well, he feels that it wasn’t the perfect game for them. It’s like getting the job done but knowing you could’ve nailed it even harder. Speaking to the media post-game, the head coach said, It wasn’t a perfect game for us. But that is a great football team. They forced things to happen. That’s what happens in the playoffs. We have a lot to clean up. We’ve got clean up the stuff for this game. We’ve got to correct this tape.” That was some hint for the locker room to prepare for the next battle, the Divisional Round.

So, instead of celebrating a victory, the Eagles will head straight to the locker room. Sirianni will make them watch the game footage, pointing out where they need to fill the gaps. It’s a no-victory Monday; the team will be getting back to work in the morning. The Eagles’ HC is the kind of guy who takes his job seriously. He’s making his players step right back on the gridiron before the divisional round, making sure they better clean up their mistakes and come out stronger.

As the Packers took the tough loss from the Eagles‘ hands, their HC, Matt LaFleur, didn’t hold back in praising Jalen Hurts and Co.

Matt LaFleur gives Nick Sirianni and his team their flowers

The Packers took a tough hit in the wild-card game (it was rough, no denying it). Not only did they lose, but they also saw two key players go down with injuries. First, Elgton Jenkins, their tackle/guard, got hurt in the first half. Then, in the fourth quarter, their center, Josh Myers, had to leave the field. They racked up penalties, dealt with injuries, and missed opportunities—it felt like everything was working against them. But even after taking the bitter loss, head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t hold back to give credit where it was due, praising Jalen Hurts and Co. for playing some good football. It’s never easy when it ends like this. Give Philly all the credit. I thought they were the better team tonight,” said LaFleur post-game.

What’s your perspective on:

Eagles win, but is Sirianni right to be unhappy with their performance against the Packers?

Have an interesting take?

The Packers just couldn’t get it done against the Eagles on a day they needed to show up. Jordan Love couldn’t even find the end zone once (in a must-win game, no less). Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts was out there doing his thing—two TDs, 131 yards, and leading the Eagles to a wild-card win.

After the tough loss, some Packers fans are already calling for Matt LaFleur’s job (classic reaction, right?). It’s always easier to throw blame around after a rough game, especially when expectations are through the roof. One fan even posted on X, “Ask him if he’s worried about his job after these playoff flops.” So, does LaFleur get another shot? That’s up to the Packers’ management. Firing coaches after a bad season is an NFL tradition at this point, but we will see what happens.
