It’s SNF time. At half time, the Saints took the 3-0 lead over the Eagles after quarterback Jalen Hurts‘ 1 fumble and 1 interception—courtesy of Head Coach Nick Sirianni‘s poor decision-making. Just 14 seconds before the halftime, the Eagles had the chance to even the scores on the 4th down. What was needed? A field goal. But the HC decided twice to go on the 4th down. It’s costing them points and hurting the fans.

Craig Carton took shots at the coach. He used pretty strong words and tweeted, “Nick Siriani might very well be the worst in game head coach in the league by a mile. I wanna feel bad for Eagles’ fans but I don’t.” What followed was a flurry of angry and ranting fans.

One fan was feeling hateful towards Sirianni and wrote, “I might… hate Nick Sirianni? Like real bad. #Eagles“, another one called the coach the problem and tweeted, “Nick Sirianni is the problem, he is not helping him n the team that fumble was just a bad mistake but the problem of the eagles is their coach.” The trolling didn’t stop here.

One fan bashed the coach, saying that he doesn’t want to work anymore, and wrote, “Nick Sirianni obviously wants to get fired for some reason.” Another fan trolled the coach by calling it a bad situation in his comment that read, “Nick Sirianni is so crazy bad it’s ridiculous.” The tables turned in the 4th quarter. Saquon Barkley made the touchdown, taking them up in the game with 6-3. One fan cheerfully tweeted, “Glad Nick Sirianni spread his terrible coaching to the Saints at least.

Off late, the coach has been using unusual tactics to motivate his locker room.

Did Sirianni's 4th down call cost the Eagles their season? What were they thinking?

Have an interesting take?

Analysts and many NFL officials have said that Eagles HC is on the hot seat this year. And he has to give results. That means he has to take the team to the playoffs in a convincing manner. Not like the previous season, when the Eagles lost 5 out of the last 6 games before losing playoffs to the Buccaneers.

The 34-29 win against Packers in the historic first NFL game ever in Brazil was far from that. Players were slipping and unable to run properly. The 21-22 loss against the Falcons in week 2 was a close encounter. Nick Sirianni stepped in to give some mantra to his team before the Saints game. And it is not what you would expect.

Eagles’ players revealed that the coach showed them a video of Conor McGregor with the message of growth through adversity. And he succeeded in his approach. Players said that they would work on his message of a ruthless attack. The HC once said that he showed players a video of the 1993 Eagles to strengthen their team bonding.
