The physical nature of the NFL spares no one. Not even the cameraman! The clear evidence of this came forth in front of the NFL enthusiasts on Thursday, November 23, when the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks faced each other. During the intense gameplay, the unsung hero behind the camera took a violent hit!

The unfortunate accident transpired as a Seahawks athlete launched at a cameraman in full gear and speed. During the second quarter, while trailing at 14-3, the Seahawks executed a successful run to the right, gaining a first down. In consonance with this, an injury met the sideline staff member. The incident was captured on video and clearly reflected the risks, even off the field.

The unforeseen collision primarily impacted the cameraman’s lower extremities. This occurrence sparked an immediate wave of concern and empathy among viewers. Even the football player involved in the collision was worried.

Dov Kleiman reported this on his X account. He wrote, “Oh wow, hope the camera man is okay… he took a really bad hit, look at his legs.” The incident has now raised questions about the measures in place to ensure people’s safety. While the NFL community is extending their heartfelt support for the cameraman, future updates are yet to follow on this issue.

Many acknowledged the fact that a non-athlete cannot handle the kind of hits that the players can. Not to mention, the players were also wearing safety gear, which the cameraman wasn’t. The cameraman injured during the Seahawks vs 49ers clash is reportedly doing fine.

However, this is not the first time such an occurrence has occurred on the gridiron. Last year, a similar accident witnessed a scary collision between the former Washington Commanders’ TE and a sideline crew.

The scary hit that ruled out Ricky Seals-Jones

On January 2, near the end zone, a scary collision unfolded between the former Commanders’ TE Ricky Seals-Jones and a nearby cameraman. It happened during the game between the Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles. As QB Taylor Heinicke threw the ball at the 28-year-old TE, trying to score a TD, it resulted in a massive accident.

While attempting to catch the football, Seals-Jones received a push in the back from the Eagles’ defender. This, combined with his own speed, resulted in a crash into the cameraman.

Immediately after the incident, the football player was ruled out due to the injury. Meanwhile, the cameraman returned to his position once again. Such accidents are a clear indication of how brutal the sport can be.
