The Kansas City Chiefs can see some potential comebacks in the upcoming games. The Red Army currently has 53 players on its roster; however, they plan to bring back linebacker Nick Bolton, who was on the injured reserve list. Besides him, they are bringing back their suspended wide receiver, Justyn Ross.

Given his personal-legal issues, the NFL suspended Ross for six games. And because of that, he was put on the Commissioner Exempt List. Earlier, the exact date of his return to play for the Chiefs was uncertain. But now, Ross will finally return to his home after Week 15 to compensate for his salary.

On Monday, the Chiefs’ wide receiver, Justyn Ross, will rejoin the team. Ross was on the Commissioner’s Exempt List after October 27 for allegedly “violating the league’s personal conduct policy” stemming from his arrest that month. According to a report released on Friday, the NFL told him that “he’s been given a six-game suspension” due to October’s incident. He already has skipped five games.

However, the good news for him is that the five games he missed due to Week 7 injury will count toward the suspension, so he can return after this Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. However, he has to give back the money he got for those five games.

The NFL’s rule states that games missed by a player on the commissioner’s exempt list count toward their suspension. Ross won’t get paid for the games he missed and therefore, will lose around $250,000 of what he was supposed to earn, which was a $7,50,000 base salary for this season.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs might get special permission for Ross, which means they have some extra time before putting him back on the roster list of 53 players after his injury and October incident.

The legal trouble of Justyn Ross

The 23-year-old Justyn Ross was put on paid leave due to legal trouble. In October, he was arrested over two charges related to domestic battery and criminal damage. Subsequently, one charge was elevated to a more severe felony.

However, Ross was released after paying a $2,500 bond. Last month, he got a legal break, a diversion, leading to a pause in his legal process by the Johnson County (Kansas) District Attorney’s Office. This diversion often occurs when there’s an agreement between the accused and the prosecutor to drop the charges.
