It’s finally beginning to look like football again and not a promo campaign for Taylor Swift! In news that will bring relief to NFL fans, the league’s social media account has made a major change. This might come as sad news for Swifties, but does it also hint at something else? Taylor Swift is currently in Argentina as part of the international leg of her Eras Tour. While the upcoming Kansas City Chiefs game is set to be played in Arrowhead, it doesn’t look like she’ll turn up for it.

But the change is major news for a certain player who wasn’t meant to play but played and dominated, anyway. So, who’s the NFL’s favorite player now?

NFL fans were infuriated when the NFL’s X account put up a collage of Taylor Swift’s reactions as their X account banner. And their bio reads “we had the best day with you today”. But not anymore. They are putting back the football in the “National Football League”. Don Kleinman took to X to share the news, “Something all NFL fans can get behind, the #NFL has changed their official social media header from Taylor Swift to #Vikings Josh Dobbs👏👏”.

The banner now features a closeup of Minnesota Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs sipping something from a cup. Josh Dobbs is filling in for Kirk Cousins who suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. And the bio reads “in Dobbs we trust”. No matter which team they supported, all football fans welcomed the change in the comments section. But why is Josh Dobbs called the “Passtronaut”?

The Vikings had signed Josh Dobbs into their team on the Halloween trade deadline. And into Week 9, he has already helped secure an impossible win for his new team. But he wasn’t even supposed to start. Rookie Jaren Hall was supposed to start instead of Cousins, but hurt himself and paved the way for Dobbs’ entry.

Dobbs came and recorded over 400 passing yards and 3 TDs in the games against the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. NASA’s Glenn Research Center’s X account posted a special tweet that read, “Congratulations @josh_dobbs1 on yesterday’s big win! Looks like you rock(et) on and off the field. We heard you’ve even got a new nickname, the “Passtronaut.” If the suit fits, wear it.🚀”
