As we come closer to the 2023 NFL trade deadline on October 31, it’s almost the need of the hour to cast our eyes back on the trades that the Chiefs made this year. The Chiefs have indeed been busy bees in the trading department. On October 18, they acquired speedster Mecole Hardman through a trade with the New York Jets, which undeniably added dynamism to their offensive lineup.
Meanwhile, the practice squad saw a shuffle with the addition of Mike Pennel and the departure of Daniel Arias on October 24. The dance in and out continued with various signings to the Practice Squad, including Isaiah Moore and Montrell Washington, alongside necessary cuts and elevations. Darius Rush found a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, leaving a gap in the roster.
Also, on August 29, Ihmir Smith-Marsette (WR) was traded to the Carolina Panthers, and Neil Farrell (DT) from the Las Vegas Raiders was acquired. The Chiefs’ front office has played high-stakes games this season successfully. Recently, the team had an eye on Frank Clark, but he chose to go in a different direction.

The unexpected happened this Wednesday. The EDGE Frank Clark signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. He is now returning to the city where his NFL career began, but not to the team that many had anticipated.
After his release from the Denver Broncos, speculation was rife about a potential reunion with the Chiefs, particularly following their trade to bring back Mecole Hardman. However, Clark opted for a different path and filled a void for the Seahawks, who direly needed an EDGE upgrade because of Uchenna Nwosu’s season-ending injury.
