New York Jets‘ frustrated running back Dalvin Cook wants to make the most out of the season’s transfer window. Since joining the team in August, Cook hasn’t been able to replicate his Vikings form. His average outings have been low, like really low, precisely the worst in the league and he is not happy with it.

Coming with a lot of hope of forming the NFL’s best RB duo along with Breece Hall, Cook believes his role has been limited. Speaking to the reporters on Thursday, Cook revealed that he will have a talk with his agent before time runs out next week.

Cook made four Pro Bowl appearances in his six seasons with the Vikings. When he joined the Jets’ in August this year, he had high hopes for himself and Breece Hall, predicting the duo would run the show in the NFL. The truth, however, has been on the opposite side as the running back is ranked 44th out of 44 qualified ball carriers, with 2.8 yards per carry.

To make things worse, his companion Hall is producing the league’s best figure at 6.8 yards per carry. With 39 carries in just 109 yards, Cook is an unhappy man without a single touchdown. Things have not worked well and the RB thinks there’s something wrong in the team that doesn’t fit him right. He has talked to the reporters, informing them about his decision to reach out to his agent and make a trade happen before the window closes next Tuesday.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini has penned down the news on the site and on X (formerly, Twitter).

Even if his wish gets granted, Cook has a long way to go to match his form with his four 1100-yard seasons for the Vikings. This season he has largely been inconsistent, and a transfer away from the Yorkers doesn’t guarantee him his form back. But where is he going to go in the first place?

Where can Dalvin Cook go?

With the trade window being nearly over, this is an equally good and bad time for trades to happen. Good because a lot of teams are hyperactive in the market, looking for the final refinements to their squad. But bad because most of them have their specific needs, and there are mostly pre-determined names. Coach Robert Saleh has not green-lighted Cook’s departure to begin with, but he has acknowledged the RB’s mentality to accept his degradation to a backup from a longtime starter. If Cook, however, decides to leave, then it’s a bigger concern for him than Saleh, for the mentioned reasons.

One possible destination may be the Tennessee Titans, who are supposedly looking to offload All-Pro running back Derrick Henry. Henry is a Titans legend, and the void he may leave is a big one. Both in terms of the numbers and his enormous physical size. Just in case, Cook can be a perfect replacement for Henry given his experience and muscular frame as well which the Titans would be looking for. The Yorker would love to dream of his redemption with the Titans in a legend’s shoes… But the biggest question remains, will they be interested in the end? Dalvin Cook will certainly hope so.
