Rumors suggest that Carl Lawson is to be a part of a trade deal soon. Per sources, the team had ‘in-depth talks’ with two other teams to trade Carl Lawson. It’s confusing at this point because a lot of details about the trade have not made it to the light of day. Additionally, it is also unclear whether the trade is in exchange for a player or a draft pick.

According to some fans, Lawson is having a decent season, and there is no reason to change him. Others see it as an opportunity for the Jets to trade Lawson for a chance to get better picks in the next draft. As the team is not doing so well, they need to resort to desperate measures to make things happen at this point.

According to some sources, Lawson has fallen down the depth chart and is dubbed as an ‘odd man out.’ There are rumors that the Seahawks are also looking over the trade as they lost Uchenna Nwosu to a pectoral injury. Apparently, the Atlanta Falcons are also on the market for a trade and are looking up to Lawson as the trade deadline approaches soon.
The situation with the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are at the top of the NFC South right now, but the 4-3 record doesn’t look all that impressive. If Lawson goes to the Atlanta Falcons, it would be like a homecoming for him, as he used to play in Georgia with his college team. The thing with Lawson is that he signed a 3-year $45 million deal with the Jets that is beneficial for either.

So far, Lawson has only played 3 games with the Jets and hasn’t displayed that much of a performance he only has 1 solo tackle in the season so far, with 2 assisted tackles. Maybe this dismal performance is the reason why the Jets want to get rid of Lawson so much.
