“We’re going to lean on Tom (Brady) as much as we possibly can for his insights because nobody has the insights that he has.” That’s what the Raiders‘ head coach, Pete Carroll, said when asked about the quarterback position in 2025. Honestly, the Raiders need every bit of insight they can get. Last season? A total disaster. Jimmy Garoppolo kicked things off with a turnover spree before getting benched. Then Aidan O-Connell had his shot but got sidelined with a busted thumb, and then Gardner Minshew?

Done for the year with a broken collarbone. Three QBs, zero stability, and a whole lot of frustration for Vegas fans. The end? A brutal 4-13 for Tom Brady’s team. Now, the NFL GOAT surely wants to flip the tables for the Raiders considering the team’s holding the no. 6 overall pick. And according to one NFL scout, they can draft a QB from Ole Miss.

Yeah, you read that right. The buzz is, Jaxson Dart reportedly “won’t make it past” the first seven picks of the draft according to one NFL scout. “There’s just too many QB-needy teams. To be honest, he has the potential to be the best NFL QB in this class.” BUT! Besides the Las Vegas team, the Giants and the Jets also reportedly have a serious interest in drafting Dart early on.

You see, the Giants are actively exploring options to secure a new QB in 2025 after Daniel Jones had a struggling season. And the Jets? Oh, they’re in the market after moving on from Aaron Rodgers. So yeah, if Tom Brady and the Raiders are actually looking to draft Dart, they’re gonna get some tough competition.

Speaking of Jaxson Dart. The 21-year-old from Ole Miss has already turned the heads of many scouts with his impressive frame and elite accuracy. On top of that, the PFF ranked him the highest-graded passer (91.9) this past season. His stats? Oh, they’re straight-up ridiculous—like, double-take, jaw-drop kind of good.

Take the last season of his college football career, for instance. The guy completed 276 of 398 attempts for a record 4,279 yards and racked up 29 touchdowns. And the rushing yards? Pretty 495 for 3 touchdowns—well enough to get the NFL scouts’ interest. And Tom Brady and the Raiders are probably gearing up to draft him, considering Gardner Minshew’s future with the team.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jaxson Dart the savior the Raiders desperately need, or just another gamble?

Where do we see Gardner Minshew in 2025?

When the former general manager Tom Telesco signed the veteran QB Gardner Minshew, his intention was pretty clear. To guide Aidan O-Connell and end their QB issues once and for all. But nope, things didn’t go their way—like, at all. Sure, through five games, the QB completed over 70% of his passes for 1,014 yards. The catch? He also threw five interceptions—including a 100-yard pick-six in week 5 loss to the Broncos.

The result? A frustrated former head coach, Antonio Pierce, benched him on multiple occasions for O-Connell. And he would have again benched him if Minshew wouldn’t have sustained a season-ending collarbone injury. And now, Nick Shook of NFL.com who ranked Minshew 36th in the best QBs of the league in 2025 believes that Minshew’s brief stint with the Raiders is gonna end in 2025. “The quarterback I lauded for keeping the[ [Indianapolis] Colts afloat in 2023 ran the Raiders’ vessel aground in 2024,” he said.

“It wasn’t with bad intention or without effort; Minshew just couldn’t refrain from taking risks that ended up costing the Raiders. Antonio Pierce grew so frustrated with the veteran he benched him on multiple occasions and likely would have again had a collarbone injury not ended Minshew’s season. His Vegas stint will end up a negative mark on an odyssey of a football résumé, but I expect him to find an opportunity elsewhere as a backup in 2025.” You see, Minshew had played for three teams before landing in Las Vegas and performed relatively well at all of his previous stops.

But you can just say that the Raiders weren’t the perfect spot he was hoping for. Sure, he has one year left on his contract, but now that Tom Brady and the team are looking for a new QB, it’s unlikely they’re gonna move ahead with Minshew.
