I’d like to demonstrate that faith in the relationship and the depth of what we did together,” said Pete Carroll in 2024 after leaving the Seahawks. It was a reply to those rumors that Russell Wilson approached the Hawks’ ownership and wanted the coach and the GM John Schneider fired. The QB also denied such actions, claiming the HC was a fatherly figure in his life. 2025 has started on a challenging note for both of them. As the Raiders HC, Carroll needs a signal caller, while Wilson is still waiting on his extension by the Steelers, who are playing defensively.

The rumors are getting crazier day by day that there could be a Seahawks reunion on the cards. At 36 years of age, the veteran QB has gone into a slump in his playing prowess. On the other side, the HC could mount an offense around the 36-year-old QB. It would give him time to draft a quarterback and train him to become a franchise quarterback. So, the mutual interest is pretty strong.

The LV Raiders showed interest in Matthew Stafford, but he will remain with the LA Rams with a restructured contract. Tom Brady‘s chance meeting with Stafford at a ski resort in Montana caused a fight between NFL insider Ian Rapoport and FOX insider Jordan Schultz. But now, the LV Raiders are considering two options other than Russell Wilson. they are interested in Sam Darnold.

The Vikings QB enjoyed massive success in 2024 with a 14-3 record, earning his first playoff spot. Mr. Unlimited missed the first 6 games because of an injury. But he also had a good 6-5 record, taking the Steelers into the playoffs. Darnold has one advantage over Russell Wilson. He is only 27 years old. So, Pete Carroll could expect a much longer run with him.

In all of these, the NFL GOAT and Raiders co-owner, Tom Brady, will have a major say. He has the responsibility of overseeing the free agency and draft.

When asked about his childhood hero, he replied, “Tom Brady. I’m able to see what he has done, and mentally, how he was able to beat people with the mind. So it’s physically that’s why he was able to play to the year he was able to play. I inherited those types of abilities. I see what he is doing. Okay, I add this to the game, and that’s why I’m not at my best product yet.” You can certainly develop those qualities, but replicating the GOAT’s success in the NFL is next to impossible.

The Raiders pick 6th in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. So, they might not draft the college quarterback. But it does open the doors of a future possibility. For now, even Tom Brady would like to have an experienced signal caller who can lead the offense on the gridiron. Russell Wilson perfectly suits that criteria.
