Despite the humiliating loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Eagles haven’t taken any drastic measures. The world thought that Nick Sirianni would end up on the chopping block. But he would not. Like the Dallas Cowboys’ tendency to keep Mike McCarthy, Sirianni might be let off the hook this time by the owner, Jeffrey Lurie.
But that doesn’t mean the Philadelphia Eagles will forget Sirianni’s transgressions. The Eagles showed that their defense has serious problems, especially after the 32-9 loss to the Bucs. Some might be because of Sirianni because he swapped Sean Desai and Matt Patricia’s roles. That turned out to be awful. Now, he is trying to find a panacea for the problems he potentially created.

It all started when Dianna Russini pointed out that the GM Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni are trying to find potential matches to revamp their coaching staff. The duo has contacted NFL coaches, coordinators, and coaching agents to join them for the 2024 season.
Both Eagles GM Howie Roseman and HC Nick Sirianni have been reaching out to available NFL coaches and coordinators, as well as coaching agents across the league to evaluate potential coordinator candidates to join their coaching staff as they plan for the 2024 season.

The senior NFL insider added later that Sirianni has not yet met with the team’s owner to figure out its next move in the future. Per Russini, the meeting couldn’t happen due to “logistical” complications.
Though this may suggest that Nick Sirianni is safe, I’m told he has not met with owner Jeffrey Lurie, something that was not possible today because of logistical issues.
Until that meeting happens, all bets are off. https://t.co/G7zM4YhK82— Dianna Russini (@DMRussini) January 18, 2024
She later added the conclusion to the bits and pieces she posted. The insider wrote that the meeting between Nick Sirianni and Jeffrey Lurie is set to happen soon. The meeting agenda entails Sirianni justifying his actions and providing the remedy to counter the dismal season that the Eagles had.
Nick Sirianni will meet with owner Jeffrey Lurie and will be expected to have a plan for how he is going to improve the Eagles. This will include a pitch on potential new coordinators and assistant coaches, per sources. This is why coaches around the league have been contacted.

This means Sirianni is scouting for new talent and potentially pitching them to Lurie for further consideration. Whether he would be able to right the wrongs is a different story. The search for coaches is in full swing. Teams like the Carolina Panthers, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Tennessee Titans, to name a few, are actively searching for new talent. So, whatever the Eagles plan to do, they must be quick about it.

Why should the Eagles expect an impending change?

A Bleacher Report analysis shows that the Eagles finished the 2023 season 26th in yards allowed with 356 YPG. They also finished 30th in points allowed with 25.2 PPG. They are tied to 19th with 43 sacks in the season and 23rd with 18 takeaways. This shows that the Birds’ defense is not all that great. This resulted from Sirianni’s experimentation by switching Sean Desai and Matt Patricia’s roles.
That’s not the only problem because their offense had also given up after they reached a record of 10-1. Jalen Hurts struggled with injuries for most of the season. The only resort for the team at one point was either the “tush push” play or Jake Elliott’s field goals. Hence, the offense also needs some changing.
