A year ago, the Tennessee Titans were hoping to usher in a new era with head coach Brian Callahan and quarterback Will Levis. But as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, the script has flipped. The franchise sits atop the draft order with a 3–14 record, a revolving door of offensive struggles, and a glaring need at QB. Meanwhile, the pressure is mounting—Callahan’s job, Levis’s future, and Tennessee’s rebuild all converge on one decision. And with Cam Ward’s name heating up the board, that decision might already be made.
The Titans have secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft—GM Mike Borgonzi‘s first major test since joining the organization. But as the draft clock ticks down, current QB Will Levis finds himself on the outside looking in. After two seasons in Tennessee, Levis holds a 5–16 starting record across 21 games. Despite playing behind a struggling offensive line, his numbers haven’t inspired confidence: 3,899 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions with a 61% completion rate (339-of-556).
Multiple teams are now reportedly showing interest in acquiring Levis, viewing him as a developmental backup with upside. According to sources, at least three teams have submitted offers for the 25-year-old quarterback, with packages centered around second-round picks.

The Minnesota Vikings are considered frontrunners in the Levis sweepstakes. After releasing veteran Sam Darnold, the team currently has (for all practical purposes a rookie) J.J. McCarthy as their presumed starter but is seeking depth at the position. Head coach Kevin O’Connell reportedly sees Levis as a strong candidate to grow into a capable No. 2 quarterback.
The Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars are also reportedly in the mix. Rams head coach Sean McVay is exploring future insurance options beyond Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo, with Levis potentially offering more long-term value than current third-stringer Stetson Bennett.
The Jaguars’ connection to Levis may run deeper—new head coach Liam Coen previously worked with him at Kentucky, a familiarity that could influence a trade. Jacksonville is also thin at backup QB behind Trevor Lawrence, making Levis an appealing addition. Meanwhile, the Titans have QB plans of their own

Is Will Levis a victim of circumstance, or did he fail to seize his Titans opportunity?

Brian Callahan ready to draft Miami QB first overall
“Now we’re going through the process here with the college quarterbacks. But I’d say everything is still on the table right now,” Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said last month. Despite public declarations, Borgonzi and HC Brian Callahan appear to be leaning toward selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick.
In his sole season with the Hurricanes (after transferring from Washington State), Ward posted impressive numbers:
4,313 passing yards
39 touchdowns
7 interceptions
67.2% completion rate (305-of-454)
204 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns on 60 carries

Ward’s dual-threat ability and leadership in a 10–3 campaign have made him a top draft prospect. While Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders remains in the conversation, league insiders suggest the Titans have locked in on Ward as their future starter. The decision to draft a quarterback with the first overall pick signals the end of the Will Levis era in Tennessee. And for Brian Callahan—entering his second season as head coach—the upcoming draft is pivotal. If Cam Ward is indeed selected, the Titans will need to offload Levis quickly to maximize trade value.
Meanwhile, Tennessee has additional needs across the offensive line and wide receiver depth. But at the moment, all eyes are on the top of the draft board—and the Titans are preparing to start over at QB once again.
