“[I want to play] both. Just like you saw me play [in college].” This statement reflects Travis Hunter’s desire to take on a two-way role in the NFL. Hence, showcasing the dynamic Colorado player’s ambition to bring change to the league by playing both cornerback and wide receiver.
His intentions are certainly noteworthy. During Colorado’s Pro Day, Hunter turned heads with his exceptional two-way performance. His impressive college stats back it up. As a wide receiver, he recorded 24 receiving touchdowns, 2,169 yards, and 171 receptions. While as a cornerback, he notched 9 interceptions, 85 tackles, and 1 forced fumble over 30 games. These performances have captured the attention of many NFL teams, making him a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.
While it remains to be seen which team will draft him, speculation is growing that Kevin Stefanski’s Browns could be his destination. The buzz has only intensified as the draft draws near. Adding to the excitement, the NFL Rumors X account fueled fan speculation by sharing a post about Hunter potentially landing with the Browns. They referenced ESPN’s Adam Schefter, stating: “#Browns are expected to select Travis Hunter at No. 2 in the NFL Draft, per Adam Schefter.” That will be great.

Adam Schefter’s opinion holds weight. Especially since Travis Hunter was the only receiver to catch passes from Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders during the school’s Pro Day. At the NFL Combine, Hunter also impressed as a cornerback. He showcased his versatility and determination. His accomplishments include winning the Heisman Trophy and being named Academic All-American of the Year. And receiving multiple Defensive Player of the Year honors further strengthens his case as a top prospect.
Previously, opinions in betting markets differed on Hunter’s draft position. But with Vegas now favoring him as the second overall pick, the odds increasingly suggest he could land in Cleveland. However, these are just speculations.
But why are the Browns considered the best landing spot for Travis Hunter? With Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward widely expected to go first overall, it strongly suggests Hunter’s future with Cleveland is increasingly likely. Additional draft rumors also support this possibility. As Shedeur Sanders and other quarterbacks have fallen down draft boards, the path appears clear for him.
Also, Cleveland has a clear need for a wide receiver. This could allow the former Tigers star to play both sides of the ball as a rookie. That’s something he has openly expressed interest in. However, the team’s quarterback situation presents a concern for his fantasy value. Even Browns DE Myles Garrett has publicly urged the team to prioritize selecting a quarterback early in the 2025 NFL Draft.
What’s your perspective on:
Should the Browns prioritize a QB over Travis Hunter, or is his two-way talent too good to pass?

Travis Hunter eyed at No. 2, but Myles Garrett wants a QB
Clearly, the Browns have been suffering from a quarterback crisis on their roster. Surprisingly, the only healthy signal-caller the team has right now is Kenny Pickett. Hence, Brown desperately needs someone to throw the ball for the next season. Travis Hunter might be a fantasy asset if he ends up in Cleveland. But, before the Browns select Hunter at No. 2 pick, DE Myles Garrett, who had a roller coaster of an offseason, requested the team to draft the QB at No. 2 pick.

Garrett, who inked a new mega-extension with the Browns after first expressing his desire to leave Cleveland, brought the suggestion to Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the Cleveland Browns, to select a QB with the second overall pick.
During his appearance on the Cleveland Browns Daily radio show, Garrett made his request for a QB at No. 2. “It’s going to be some growing pains. But we, as a team, have to be a landing pad for him to fall back on—and, being on the defensive side, help him out whenever things go wrong,” the unanimous All-American honoree explained.
