Which Cincinnati Bengals player comes to your mind when we talk about a 29-year-old, Penn State alumni, Third-team All-Big Ten, and 3,526 career receiving yards? It’s none other than Mike Gesicki. The star tight end has hit free agency after the 2024 season with Joe Burrow’s Bengals. The latest Sunday update talks about his projected contract and potential landing spots in the offseason.

In a Sunday update (or potentially a rumor?) Mike Gesicki has been making headlines. It’s related to his free agency and it says that Gesicki may get a two-year deal where he lands, and the contract amount can go up to a staggering $14 million. And it’s almost half of his career earnings. The Dolphins picked the ‘underrated’ tight end up in the 2018 NFL drafts. He played five seasons with the Dolphins till 2022, earning a cumulative cash of $17,766,886. Mike Gesicki signed a $2,500,000 deal with the Bengals for one year and now has four options in free agency waiting for him to sign as soon as possible. But before we dive into those four and more landing spots for Gesicki, let’s learn why the team wants to sign him. In 2024, Mike Gesicki had 665 yards on the receiving end and made 65 receptions at 83 total targets. Though he was able to land only two touchdowns in 2024, fans can’t forget his lightning plays in the season.

For his outstanding plays, he has received a $125,000 bonus for passing 600 receiving yards and another $125,000 for exceptional reception, per Bleacher Reports. Dang! This opens up more than one opportunity for Mike Gesicki to get inducted on any team in the 2024 season. Do you know which teams are interested in this tight end? Let’s dive in!

Mike Gesicki has Four doors open for the 2025 season

First up, the most interesting franchise in Mike Gesicki, according to the rumors, is the Indianapolis Colts. There are many reasons. First of all, MG’s skills and confidence. But the other reason includes Anthony Richardson, who has a shocking 47.7% completion percentage in the 2024 season and 50.6 in his career. The second potential landing spot for Joe Burrow’s teammate is the Denver Broncos. According to Fox21News, the Broncos have Mike Gesicki as their top priority for a tight end, following Juwan Johnson and Zach Ertz. Per reports, the Broncos need a tight end who can dominate the field to elevate the Broncos offense by assisting Bo Nix. Well, it would be great to see Gesicki in Orange. The third team that would sign him is the Rams

In terms of the Rams, their tight end Tyler Higbee will be in his last year of contract, which can also invite a trade for Gesicki. But it seems that his chances of taking a flight to Los Angeles are less as the franchise is already dealing with the QB position and Cooper Kupp. However, the fourth option for MG can be the Bengals itself. He can get another year as a free agent.
