The NFL offseason is basically the wildest reality show out there, and Russell Wilson is smack in the middle of it. Not too long ago, like in December or in January, he was hyping up his Steelers’ future, saying, “I love it here… Hopefully get to win a Super Bowl.” Fast forward to now. Yeah, that’s not happening. Pittsburgh is moving on, and Wilson is out here auditioning for his next gig like an actor trying to stay relevant in Hollywood.
Now, the latest tea? The Tennessee Titans might be interested in him. But before you get all excited, let’s be real—this is just a rumor. Pro Football Rumors are already shutting it down, saying the Titans aren’t actually eyeing Wilson that hard. Some sources even straight-up said Tennessee isn’t considering him at all, so this might just be another case of NFL gossip getting out of hand.

And honestly, Tennessee wouldn’t be the smoothest move for Wilson either. Their O-line had one of the worst pass-blocking performances in 2024, which means he’d still be running for his life more often than not. The run game? Decent, but nothing crazy. If Russell Wilson wants a cushy setup where he can just drop back and sling it without pressure in his face, the Titans probably aren’t it.
But wait, Tennessee isn’t the only team lurking. The New York Giants have been out here collecting quarterbacks like Pokémon cards, recently signing Jameis Winston to a two-year deal. But guess what? They still haven’t ruled out adding another QB, and Russell Wilson is definitely on their radar.
Wilson even took a little tour, pulling up to visit the Browns on March 13 and the Giants the very next day. In Cleveland, Myles Garrett was lowkey campaigning for him, saying, “I definitely think he’d be a valuable asset as a leader, as a mentor to those young guys. Veteran leadership can’t be understated. He’s got plenty of arm left. He’s very smart and he knows what he’s capable of.” Sounds like Garrett wouldn’t mind seeing Russell Wilson in a Browns jersey.
Then there’s the Giants, who are coming off a tragic 3-14 season and are desperately trying to fix their QB room. Wide receiver Darius Slayton basically confirmed they’re on the hunt for a veteran quarterback and even hyped up Wilson’s deep-ball skills. He didn’t flat-out say ‘Yo, sign Russ!‘ but let’s be real—the Giants need help, and Wilson could be a decent band-aid.

Is Russell Wilson still a top-tier QB, or is he just another NFL journeyman now?
Have an interesting take?
As for Russell Wilson’s 2025 season? It was meh. In 11 games with the Steelers, he completed 63% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Not terrible, but also not enough to keep Pittsburgh from ghosting him. The team ended the year on a brutal five-game losing streak, including a postseason L, and Wilson was basically left on read.
Steelers visited by 4-time MVP, what’s next?
Aaron Rodgers’ free agency saga just got even more interesting. The four-time MVP pulled up to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ facility on Friday, fueling speculation that a deal was on the horizon. But just when it seemed like Pittsburgh was ready to land one of the most decorated quarterbacks in NFL history, Rodgers left without signing a contract. Now, the Steelers are left in limbo, wondering if their next QB1 just walked out the door—or if he’s simply taking his time with yet another dramatic decision.
According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Gerry Dulac, a deal between Rodgers and the Steelers “could be forthcoming,” but nothing is set in stone just yet. Rodgers, who was released by the New York Jets on March 12, has been careful with his options. With the Minnesota Vikings pulling out of the race earlier this week, Pittsburgh and the New York Giants are the only two teams left in the QB race. But Steelers fans were hoping for a quick resolution which didn’t happen as Aaron left without a word.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero shed some light on the situation while speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, saying that Rodgers’ visit was more spontaneous than a planned signing. “My understanding was this was kind of a last-minute type of thing,” Pelissero said. “Aaron Rodgers came to the facility, spent some time with coaches, and has been talking to people in the organization for a while now.” He also emphasized that Rodgers operates on his own timeline, noting that “he has two teams right now that have put everything else on hold for him.” That means the Steelers—along with the Giants—are essentially waiting on Rodgers to make up his mind before they move forward with their quarterback plans. Aaron Rodgers even spent about six hours at the Steelers’ training facility on Friday, meeting with their coaches.

If Pittsburgh manages to snag Aaron Rodgers, their 2025 season could flip faster than a pancake at a diner. Right now, their QB room’s got Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson—so, yeah, adding a future Hall of Famer like Rodgers would be like swapping a tricycle for a Ferrari. Sure, he’s not the same guy who used to torch defenses for fun back in the day, but let’s be real: the man’s still got a football brain sharper than a new pencil, throws that hit receivers like GPS-guided missiles, and enough clutch magic to steal games when it matters.
Last season? Rough. Injuries sidelined him early. But if he stays healthy, he’s absolutely got the chops to sprinkle some of that Rodgers fairy dust and keep the Steelers alive in the AFC North. The catch? Pittsburgh’s playing a risky game of chicken. If they wait too long and Rodgers bolts to New York instead, they’re stuck starting Rudolph—a move that’d have Steelers fans side-eyeing their TVs harder than a confusing plot twist in a soap opera.
