After the Philadelphia Eagles crashed out of the playoffs, all hell is breaking loose. A shock defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the reigning NFC champions was not on the books. But this is where head coach Nick Sirianni finds himself. Is his job safe?

As per reports, Sirianni is supposed to have a meeting with the Eagles’ owner Jeffery Lurie. And this meeting could be the deciding factor for the future of both Sirianni and the Eagles. This meeting could be a make-or-break scenario for all parties involved.

Nick Sirianni can walk in with his head held high

Sirianni joined the Eagles in 2021 when Doug Pederson was fired. And in his three seasons with the team, Sirianni has taken the Eagles to the playoffs on each occasion. Going as far as the Super Bowl last season, while winning the NFC championship.

Though his record is impeccable, and the meeting is considered to be a routine end-of-season meeting. The circumstances in which the head coach and the owner are meeting are out of the ordinary.

As per reports, the owner Lurie has not made up his mind regarding Sirianni. Hence, this meeting, where possibly new candidates for the defensive and offensive coordinator coaches will be decided, could turn out to be one of the last meetings. Despite his record, Sirianni is facing problems within his camp that have not been solved.

A collapse of colossal proportions

During this season, the Eagles went on a 5-game winning streak twice. But in their last six games, they lost 5 times and then bowed out in the first round of the playoffs. That too against the 7th-seeded team in the conference.

Sirianni also demoted his defensive coordinator Sean Desai, during the losing streak. But his change of promoting Matt Patricia did not bear fruits as the Eagles kept on leaking defensively. And the offense, though solid on paper, has been lackluster at the tail end of the season.
