Micah Parsons is spending a lot more time this offseason on X and in Dubai. The Cowboys are hungry for a Super Bowl. But to win a Super Bowl, you’ve got to build a team like that. Dallas always remains in the news for one reason or another, thanks to Jerry Jones’s shenanigans. But this off-season, they have been quietly making moves. Most recently, Jerry Jones and the team have added another player to boost their backfield.
Early on Thursday, rumors were swirling that the Cowboys were planning to sign Panthers RB Miles Sanders, who was released on March 11. “Miles Sanders plans to sign with the #Cowboys on a one-year deal,” reported Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Shortly afterward, multiple reports stated that Sanders and the Cowboys had reached an agreement. So now, Brian Schottenheimer has one more offensive weapon on the squad. The Dallas RB room now includes Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, and Deuce Vaughn.

Now, here’s something interesting. Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle goes to the Panthers, and their RB signs with Dallas -that’s quite a full-circle moment. The details of the contract are not public yet. For now, all that we know is that it’s a one-year deal. Philly drafted Sanders in the second round of the 2019 draft. The Penn State alum graced the gridiron with the Eagles for four years, playing in Super Bowl LVII with the team. In 2023, he inked a four-year deal with the Panthers worth $25.4 million. But Carolina decided to release him early, probably because of his injury concerns.
The 27-year-old missed six games in the 2024 season following an ankle injury. Sanders had 55 rushing attempts while racking up 205 yards and scoring two TDs in the 2024 season. The RB also recorded 24 receptions for 148 receiving yards. So, Miles had less contribution this season because of his ankle injury.
Now, he is off to a fresh start in Dallas. So, while this offseason, Jerry Jones has been working quietly, two of the players have gone to war with each other, giving the media their Cowboys headlines.
Micah Parsons vs. DeMarcus Lawrence: Social media smackdown
Micah Parsons, who is still waiting for his contract extension with the Cowboys, is proving his loyalty to the team in every way possible. On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks, whose value is $5.45 billion, signed Cowboys LB DeMarcus Lawrence to a three-year deal worth $42 million. Lawrence changed teams after a decade, which led to many people asking him about the move. So recently, in an interview with Hawk Blogger, the LB dropped the truth behind his decision. Lawrence’s response did not sit well with many, especially with Micah Parsons, who could not help taking a jab at his former teammate.

Is Micah Parsons right to call out DeMarcus Lawrence, or is it just sour grapes?
Have an interesting take?
“The main difference, as you can see, is this cold. Gotta keep my jacket on here, but definitely love the atmosphere,” said DeMarcus. The four-time Pro Bowler then added, “Change of scenery is always good, but Dallas is my home. I made my home there. My family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there. But, you know, I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there, so … yeah.” And that’s when the digital war started.
So, he did not hold back commenting, “This is what rejection and envy look like! This is some clown expletive! (clown emoji),” as soon as Micah came across this video of his ex-teammate.
And in a matter of time, the two started firing back at each other like some teenagers in high school. Advising Parsons not to spend much time on X, DeMarcus replied, “Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.” Woah! The two have turned X into a war zone. Once again, the Cowboys manage to top the headlines for something absurd, but this time, there’s a change of scenery. This time, it’s not Jerry Jones.
