Remember when Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were basically the cheat code of the NFL? Or how Mahomes and Kelce turned every Sunday into a highlight reel? Yeah, some duos just get it. That kinda chemistry? You can’t coach it—you just recognize it when you see it. And it looks like Brian Callahan and the Tennessee Titans’ front office might’ve spotted something really familiar heading into this year’s draft.

The NFL draft 2025 is just two weeks away, and the teams are juggling to draft the best of the best prospects in that three-day-long event. And all eyes will be on the Titans. And why not? They’re sitting at the throne with No. 1 overall pick. But here’s the kicker—the latest rumors are suggesting that Callahan and Co. are eyeing a wideout in the second round.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Washington State Cougars’ wideout Kyle Williams is visiting with the Titans today. The interesting part? Well, the 22-year-old WR was a former teammate with Cam Ward, who’s projected to be the No. 1 pick later this month. The Titans have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to use that on the former WSU QB, Ward.

Before Cam Ward packed his bags for Miami, he had a pretty electric thing going with Williams up in Washington State. The guy wasn’t just a wideout—he was the go-to guy. In just one season together, the duo connected for six TDs and nearly 850 yards like it was backyard football. Williams?

Let’s just say the guy came in hot from UNLV and never cooled down—2,000+ yards, 20 touchdowns, and a spot in WSU’s history books. Safe to say, he didn’t just show up—he showed out. His senior year in crimson and gray? Well, if we ask the Cougars’ QB John Mateer, he might call Williams his favorite target. In his final season as a Coug, Williams led WSU with 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns on 70 receptions.

Thanks to that, the NFL scouts have their sight on the 22-year-old WR. And if all goes well, don’t be surprised if Kyle Williams and Cam Ward play together in 2025. Once Again. The kicker? Ward isn’t the only one who would be reunited with his former WR if the Titans draft him.

Brian Callahan to reunite Kyle Williams with his former OC?

At this point, it’s pretty much certain that the Titans are drafting the Miami Hurricanes’ Cam Ward with their No. 1 overall pick. If that goes well, the Titans’ general manager Mike Borgonzi is expected to shift his focus towards a solid supporting cast for Ward and the Titans’ offensive coordinator, Nick Holz.

Till now, the Tennessee team had done an impeccable job to bolster their offense. They signed Dan Moore Jr. at left tackle and Kevin Zeitler at right guard. That means JC Latham will now switch back to his natural position after playing left tackle in the last season.

However, we just can’t ignore the elephant in the room. And we’re talking Tennessee’s receiving corp. That’s where the WSU’s Kyle Williams comes in. And that’s where things got pretty interesting. See, Nick Holz was also Williams’ OC at UNLV in 2022. It was his last season before he transferred to WSU.

Under Holz’s coaching, Williams accumulated 40 receptions for 541 yards and five TDs. Along with Williams, Tennessee is expected to select multiple receivers in this year’s draft. Currently, Brian Callahan has the former first-round pick Treylon Burks and Van Jefferson in their receiving room. Considering Williams’ connection with Cam Ward and Nick Holz, Williams could be the latest addition on Callahan’s roster.
