The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers in a historically poor playoff game performance. Amid all the hiring and firing in the NFL, the clock might finally be winding down for Mike McCarthy and his accomplices due to this unanticipated loss. Despite the results not coming out in their favor, it was the initial start to the game that brought questioning to the HC and his team. Per NFL experts, with options like Mike Vrabel, Jim Harbaugh, and Bill Belichick in the market, continuing with McCarthy after such a poor playoff run seems futile.
The 48-32 even though witnessed some moments of comeback toward the end, the Cowboys fans were left thoroughly disappointed in general due to the display on the gridiron. Skip Bayless justified his disappointment on Twitter concerning the same. So did Jane Slater, the reporter for the NFL Network. However, if the Cowboys were to enter the market for a new coach, they would face notable competition to get the big names on their coaching staff.
Is this it for Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys?

Jane Slater tweeted about the Cowboys coach crisis during the live game and the post is already going viral. By the looks of it, people have already started speculating about who would be the next man up instead of McCarthy.
The reporter wrote on X, “The Jones family’s have always shown Mike McCarthy support but there’s no way they are watching believing this is good enough, especially with Mike Vrabel, Jim Harbaugh, and Bill Belchick available. (and they may have to beat Jeffrey Laurie to do it) Stunning 1st half here.”
The tweet indicated a clear-cut message of how the Cowboys continuing with McCarthy seems like a rare chance for the next season, especially with them having a plethora of options in front of them. However, the reporter was quick to mention the name of the Philadelphia Eagles’ owner’s name in the list of people who would be 1st in line to run through the different experienced coaches for his side.

Skip Bayless also gave his opinion on the dismal game that the Cowboys had. He is also on the same page with everyone as far as sacking Mike McCarthy is concerned. Bayless wrote on X, “I now pronounce this game OVER. CONGRATS TO THE PACKERS. CONGRATS, TO MY BROTHER LIL WAYNE. CONGRATS TO ME, FINALLY BEING RID OF MIKE MCCARTHY, WHO HAD BETTER BE FIRED TOMORROW.”

Bayless’ tweet is just short of a million views, and some even went as far as to say, “This is the most embarrassing performance in NFL playoff history!” The question is whether Jerry Jones would stick with Mike McCarthy after everything is said and done, showing him continued faith or will he look to move on after the heartbreaking defeat.
Will the Cowboys employ Bill Belichick?
Bill Belichick is on good terms with Jerry and Stephen Jones, per reports. A tweet from Albert Breer makes a strong case for Belichick joining the Cowboys. His tweet on X said,” Just a total meltdown. And a note here: Bill Belichick has, quietly in recent years, through doing football business and attending owners meetings, built a very solid relationship with both Jerry and Stephen Jones. Things might be getting pretty interesting here.”

Rob Gronkowski though put forth another perspective on Bayless’ inclusion to the side, saying he is more likely to become a part of the Falcons. Yet, per his opinion as well, the Cowboys will be on the lookout for a potential new face on the coaching staff.
However, Troy Aikman doesn’t think that McCarthy’s job is not in danger. “Mike took this job as every head coach that’s taken the Cowboys job: They understand what the expectations are. There would be disappointment if they’re not able to get to the Super Bowl and win it this year. But I think Mike McCarthy’s job’s safe.” told Aikman to the New York Post.

In the past, Jerry Jones had been quite stubborn about benching Dak Prescott despite some errors from the QB. On numerous occasions, he came forth and expressed his faith in Dak Prescott. Maybe it is the same case with McCarthy and the owner just might continue to display his belief in the HC despite the utterly disappointing loss against the Green Bay Packers.
