We all know that Kay Adams is a sensational media celebrity who impresses her audience and guests with interesting questions. Early in her career, this NFL reporter served as an in-game host for the St. Louis Cardinals at their home games. And now she has become a national reporter and sports commentator for the NFL. Interesting, isn’t it? But what if we tell you this wasn’t her first profession?
Born and brought up in Chicago, Kay Adams got her first breakthrough in 2016. She joined NFL Network’s Good Morning Football as a co-host, which gave her a big platform to develop her soft skills even more. And now, she hosts her own show – Up & Adams, where she welcomes guests from the NFL community to discuss football in a fresh way. But the 38-year-old’s story is nothing less than inspiring.
On Thursday, Kay Adams announced a Q&A round for her Instagram followers. Since then, multiple on-beat and off-beat questions from fans flooded her account, and the reporter isn’t disappointing any of them. In the same session, one curious admirer asked Adams, “What was your first job?”

To which, the 1986 born dropped a video with an answer. In that featured video, she could be heard saying, “I was a waffle cone maker at an ice cream shop in Chicago, and it smelled so freaking good. So sticky though.”

Now, to the people who are unaware, Adams is known for her love of ice cream. In many videos posted earlier on her social media platforms, the 38YO has been seen enjoying the frozen dessert. She is particularly a fan of Graeter’s Ice Cream from Cincinnati but is also fond of the specials of Skyline Chili.

Kay Adams’ first sports attendance was special
Born in Chicago, many of you might be thinking that Kay Adams must have visited the Bears game for the first time. Unfortunately, you would be wrong! Despite being a Chicagoan, or a self-proclaimed fan of the Bengals, Adams’s first time witnessing a LIVE sporting event was not for these teams. Instead, her first LIVE exposure to the sports world came during a World Cup, when she was very young.

In the same Q&A session on Instagram, Kay Adams shared a nostalgic memory, besides revealing her offseason plan. She expressed: “I did not go to any sports games in Chicago. No Bears, I’ve never been to a Bulls game, Cubs not until high school. My first sports memory of going to something was when the World Cup was in town and there was a friendly, not even a real match, a friendly between Greece and Colombia. And my dad was so psyched and I got to go with him and watch him lose his mind and I got to see like Valderrama and it was epic and I’ll never forget it.” Maybe that moment sparked her love for sports. But why football?
Well, credit goes to her dad, a passionate soccer and football fan. His love for the game shaped hers, eventually leading Kay Adams to a career in media for football. Well, from waffle ice creams to football analyses, keep serving up those sweet dishes and (sometimes) ice-cold takes, Kay!
