Now, as the offseason is about to end and the 2024 season is going to commence, the NFL is supposed to make a decision on whether the WR will get to take the gridiron or not.

As reported by The Washington Post, a spokesman for the league shared an update. “We continue to closely monitor all developments in the matter which remains under review. We will let the legal process play out before making any decisions.”

The wide receiver is not expected to be on the commissioner’s exempt list. This news has surely given a sigh of relief to Rice and the Chiefs. However, it didn’t fit well with the NFL fans, who slammed Roger Goodell’s decision. While a suspension seems likely, they are holding off until the legal process finishes, which could take months. According to the reports, the legal process could begin later this year, and if not, then it might be delayed for the next year. But for now, Rice is still playing!

A preliminary investigation by the Dallas police established that the accident was caused after two speeding cars- a Lamborghini and a Corvette- lost control. The Lamborghini hit the center median wall and caused a chain reaction collision. The authorities also stated that Rice was driving the Lamborghini 119 mph.
