The Chargers faced the Patriots in Week 16 (and wow, what a game). The Bolts handed the Pats a huge 40-7 defeat. But while rocking on the gridiron, two Chargers players got a little too carried away with emotions.
Wondering who they were? It was the Bolts’ linebacker Tuli Tuipulotu and fellow LB Junior Colson. Both of these young lads have been fined by the NFL for breaking the game rules. So, just like their big win over the Pats, they’re now stuck with a big bill for their unsportsmanlike conduct (lesson learned, hopefully).
Tuipulotu has been fined a hefty $8,297. The LB made a violent gesture during the second quarter of the game, and the refs didn’t let it slide. Looks like the young rookie was picturing himself in a Scorsese movie while out on the gridiron. Hopefully, he’ll learn from his debut year and avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

On the flip side, the NFL fined another Bolts’ LB, Junior Colson, $6,088. The Chargers‘ third-round pick this year received a fine for unnecessary roughness during the game. During the fourth quarter of the game, Colson got a bit too aggressive while trying to stop a Patriots runner. Seems like both rookies have a fiery attitude, but those hefty fines could cool them off a little.
Anyway, the NFL will handle that. For now, Jim Harbaugh’s team is getting ready for their last game of the regular season this week. The Chargers will be facing the Raiders on their home turf at Allegiant Stadium. On Saturday, the Chargers’ HC announced his lineup for the week 18 game before heading straight into the playoffs.

In the AFC West, after Andy Reid’s Chiefs, Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers were the second team to make it to the postseason. Now, with the Raiders game on the horizon, the HC revealed the lineup for the final game. Good news for Chargers fans, Alohi Gilman might finally be back in action on Sunday. The safety has been out since November 30 dealing with a hamstring injury, but he’s officially off the injured reserve list and ready to roll.
Dez Fitzpatrick might also get lucky, as the Chargers have moved him to the active roster from the practice squad for the first time this season. Fitzpatrick, a wide receiver, last played on the gridiron during the previous season. Since then, he’s been with the Chargers’ practice squad. Now, the Louisville alum could step back onto the gridiron for Sunday’s game.

Another new entry in the roster is Alabama alum, Eddie Jackson. The Chargers will see Eddie Jackson play his first game with them after the Ravens released him in November. Jackson, a safety, is a two-time Pro Bowler, with eight years of experience. Whether these players will step on the gridiron on Sunday or not, we’ll find out in a few hours. For now, Lamar Jackson’s Ravens have beaten the Browns with a huge 35-10 in their final game of the season.
