Jim Harbaugh has proven himself to be a great head coach. Now the veteran coach will oversee the Los Angeles Chargers and there are many expectations from him. One of those expectations is for him to at least carry the Chargers to the playoffs in the upcoming season.
Interesting things are ahead for the Chargers as they hold 5 overall pick in the coming NFL Draft and along with it, they have a chance of drafting JJ McCarthy. The Chargers’ chances to get to the championship games might increase if they get their hands on JJ McCarthy. Donte Whitner, the former NFL safety had a few words to say about the situation. Whitner used to play with the Niners when Harbaugh was leading the team.
In a conversation with Kay Adams, the safety was asked about his experience with the head coach and what he expects from him in the future. Whitner had nothing but praises to sing of the Chargers’ new HC. Also, he had a bold claim to make.

“First of all, he has his quarterback. And when you put Jim Harbaugh with a quarterback, he’s the quarterback Whisperer, like he was with JJ McCarthy, like he was with Colin Kaepernick. Any of the quarterbacks that were under the tutelage of Jim Harbaugh, he figures out what your strengths are, and he tailors his offense around that in the running game.” Said Whitner.
He further added, “And then his defense they have you know [Joey] Bosa on one side and then um of the guy Mack, Khalil Mack on the other side along with the secondary and how fundamental and physical he demands his teams to be. I believe that Jim Harbaugh and the LA Chargers are going to be in the AFC Championship Game this year.”
But it’s not just Whiter who thinks that the HC and QB duo is unstoppable.

Rich Eisen on the McCarthy and Harbaugh duo in the NFL
Recently, on the Rich Eisen show, Ross Tucker and the host talked about how Harbaugh utilized JJ McCarthy, even though he was injured at one point, and tailored the offense to run the ball 32 times in a single game. Michigan’s defense, per Eisen, was weak on the right side, but the HC figured out a way to get around that problem. Despite all this, McCarthy kept the teamwork spirit alive and made sure he did what was in the best interest of him without selfishly trying to boost his own stats. In addition to this, Harbaugh dubbed McCarthy “Once in a generation QB.”

This was the same kind of mentality we saw when Harbaugh was coaching Andrew Luck at Stanford. The team used to run the ball as much as possible to make the plays happen. The amount of experience that he has coaching football might just be the reason enough that the Chargers will go further this season. Only will tell what Harbaugh has in store for the Los Angeles team in the upcoming season.
