It seems the NFL nation is turning on the announcers’ calls this week. After slamming Cris Collinsworth and Mike Tirico on Sunday, fans again took a jibe at another ESPN’s announcer, Troy Aikman for his biases and favoritism.

The Chiefs were playing against the Saints on October 7, 2024 in a Week 5 MNF game. And the fans were enjoying the thrilling showdown as both the teams gave each other a close competition. Although the Chiefs finally won with 26-13, the game compelled many to sit on their seats’ edges. However, there was something which was disturbing the fans! And that was, Troy Aikman!

ESPN’s announcer’s call irked fans in the game. Why? Well, the NFL fans who saw the game today know it! So, what happened was, Aikman kept continuously praising Patrick Mahomes too much in the game. For instance, after Patrick Mahomes was intercepted, Aikman still chose to speak in the quarterback’s favor, saying that he reads the opponent’s defense and he is a good player. Yes, Aikman we get it, but at least when Mahomes was intercepted, count his mistakes of judgment too!

Nevertheless, he continued to praise three-time Super Bowl champ in the Monday game, which fumed netizens. However, besides these, an interesting factor here is, when in 2019, ICYMI wrote, “Patrick Mahomes has thrown 36% of Troy Aikman’s career touchdowns, in about 8% of the games,” the former NFL player found it as an attack to his own football career. Hence, sharing the tweet, he wrote, “Talk to me when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles.”

Now that Patrick Mahomes has equaled up his Super Bowl titles with Troy Aikman this year, it seems the announcer has become a fan of the 29-year-old. And perhaps the consequences of it were heard in this MNF game.

Troy Aikman gets trolled brutally!

Patrick Mahomes…..Patrick Mahomes…..Patrick Mahomes! The NFL fans who tuned in to the Monday Night Football game listened to this name along with his praises all the time. Hence, it frustrated many, even the Chiefs’ fans, one of whom took to X to politely write, “Troy Aikman ily but please stop hyping the Chiefs up so much. I use to literally like this team! Mahomes isn’t bad (lil loud) and I love Andy Reid but like cmon.” They further added that besides praising Mahomes, Aikman should have also talked about the quarterback’s interceptions, as they wrote, “Why not talk about Mahomes having as much overturn interceptions in 6 years than Tom Brady in 23 years??” So, in short, this fan just tried to put forward their points without any offense to the announcer.

However, not everyone was as polite as the previous fan. One even shared a shocking photo of Troy Aikman and wrote, “Patrick Mahomes pump fakes a throw for the 100th time. Troy Aikman & Joe Buck (be like a shocking face in awe).” Not only this! Another fan even shared a video of child horse riding, suggesting that “Troy Aikman (shows this level of excitement) when Patrick Mahomes completes a pass in the flat.” Ouch! That was too direct at him. However, this isn’t all. Another direct jibe came at Troy Aikman when a fan commented, “Mahomes throws an incompletion, and Troy Aikman says it is because Mahomes is too good. He dissected the defense too quickly and knew too well what they were doing. …or he missed his target. That could be it too.” This fan tried to show the mirror to the announcer where his fault was.

Some also pointed out a few instances when the 57-year-old praised Monday’s game winning QB, which they find humorous. For instance, a fan wrote, “Troy Aikman just suggested Mahomes misses opportunities because he reads defenses so well that he goes through progressions too fast.” It turned out to be hilarious for the fans as they also dropped a laughing emoji along with the comments. In fact another one simply put it as, “Listening to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman talk about Mahomes God tier 5 yard passes to Kelce, followed by a Taylor Swift close up is getting old…” They showed their inner tiredness by hearing the praises again and again.

Well, the hate seems real for Troy Aikman this time!
