Is Bryce Young the future of the Panthers, or just another overhyped rookie?

The 2024 season is full of unexpected twists and turns. We have seen everything from bizarre scheduling quirks to significant changes in broadcasting and coaching strategies. And to add more drama, the Panthers benched Bryce Young last week. But here’s the kicker!

With all the talks going on about the QB being sidelined, sports reporter Jay Glazer has joined the conversation. He said, “But four teams called to inquire, and all four teams were told unequivocally, no, like no interest in moving in.” The NFL Insider not only mentioned how four teams inquired about Young, but also confirmed that no offer was made.

On Tuesday’s Fox NFL Podcast, Glazer revealed that the Panthers just took a step back to make a jump forward. At least, that is how things were framed to him! As per the TV personality, “They said, he needs to really mature in a lot of ways, on and off the field. But we want to learn from Andy Dalton going to sit there and learn to see how it’s done and pick up a lot of these habits.” So, it seems like they’re not giving up on him being their future quarterback. However, it doesn’t seem like he will be back in the starting lineup anytime soon. But there is again a twist!

The Panthers still believe Young has a shot to return eventually, as long as things turn around, but with a little change! They want the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner to really grow in a lot of different ways. And the reason is quite simple. It’s just not easy to be a quarterback. As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. A QB has a lot on his shoulders. It is different from just dropping back and throwing or running or reading. But even during tough times, Bryce Young is burning the midnight oil!

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young didn’t seem too happy when he learned veteran Andy Dalton will replace him for upcoming games. And that’s how anyone would have reacted. The 2023 No.1 Pick had a bad start, taking a beating against the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite hitting the rough patch, it was a surprise for Young when the Cardiac Cats benched him.

He said, “Not something that I was necessarily expecting.” However, the CFP national champion still respects the HC. Bryce stated, “Obviously, they made a decision, and it’s on me to put them in that situation. Right now, that’s the situation that it is.” Even after dealing with a tough hand, the quarterback has taken the blame for not performing well. And as the saying goes, “Learn from your mistakes,” it looks like the College Football Player of the Year is really taking that to heart—maybe a little too seriously!

Young watched Dalton deliver a superstar performance, completing 26-of-37 passes for 319 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in Carolina’s 36-22 win over the Raiders last Sunday. Not only did he see the veteran player outperform but also cheered for him off-field. “He was always upbeat, always giving guys props on the sideline, being like, ‘Let’s go,’ being positive, being a great leader on the sideline,” Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble stated. He also mentioned how the team loves Young for handling things with grace. And that’s not all!

According to ESPN’s David Newton, the QB has been really nice the whole week. He said, “But he’s been amazing this entire week, still being locked in the protection meetings and all the other meetings and in practice.” While the Manning Award winner remained fully engaged in meetings and practices, offering support and insight from the sidelines, he also acted normal. Even center Austin Corbett praised Young’s attitude. “This isn’t what you expect.”

With all the drama going on in the Panthers locker room, will Bryce Young be able to make a comeback soon? Let’s see!
