Is Aaron Rodgers really happy with his decision to play for the New York Jets? According to an NFL insider, there’s more going on behind the scenes than fans realize! Rodgers’ feelings about the Jets are way more complicated than anyone thought, after a crazy season. With recent reports of tension and frustration, the veteran QB may be rethinking his commitment to the team.
Eric Mangini, NFL analyst and former head coach of the Jets, has made a bold yet logical statement regarding the ongoing drama surrounding Rodgers’ willingness to take a salary cut to stay with the team. However, there’s a catch. In response to Colin Cowherd’s question on the matter, Eric Mangini replied, “On the Aaron front, you’d like to keep Aaron because you don’t want that salary cap hit. But Aaron is doing everything in his power to get cut from the Jets.”
“That’s a direct shot at the owner. That’s legitimizing everything that’s been said in the organization.”

Mangini, who also served as an assistant to Bill Belichick, went on to say, “The fact that Aaron brought up that he has never been cut by a team and has never been released by a team—that’s a direct shot at the owner. That’s legalizing everything that’s been said in that organization.” Regarding the debate over Aaron Rodgers’ retirement, Mangini added, ‘To me, as soon as he said that [the direct shot at the owner], my mind said he wants out, but he doesn’t want to retire, obviously. He aims to secure payment and avoid the backlash that accompanies retirement.”
In response, Colin Cowherd said, “I don’t think the Jets are that far off.” The analyst further mentioned we always roll our eyes at the Texans, Commanders, and Broncos. And it’s not baseball or the NBA! Cowherd continued emphasizing the franchise management, saying, “You get the coach right and the staff right.”

Aaron Rodgers Ready to Take Salary Cut
Earlier this week, Rodgers spoke to reporters and addressed questions about his future with the Jets. After discussions about his pay cut, he said, “I haven’t decided whether I want to play in the future or not. And I haven’t been informed about their plans. If a new staff comes in, wants me to stay, and also prepares for the future, then absolutely, I’d be open to it.” Along with this, Rodgers mentioned he would love to mentor the rookie QBs, as his future remains uncertain between the franchise’s decisions and his potential retirement.
