The Chiefs won the week 16 game against the Texans. But not without injuries to their key players like the DT Chris Jones. Andy Reid and the whole of Chiefdom were worried about their defensive leader. When he wobbled on the field in the 4th quarter, fans sensed something was not right. But brace yourselves for the big news.

Just a few hours after the game, NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that Jones’ MRI came back negative. It means that the calf strain injury is not a season-ending. It brings a relief for the Chiefs’ locker room. They are already into the playoffs and can’t afford him to sit on the bench because of any injury. However, the true extent of injury is still unknown. And that remains a worry for the team.

Till week 15, the PFF rated Chris Jones as the 3rd best defensive tackle in the league with 48 QB hurries, 12 QB hits, and 6 sacks. Playing in his 9th season for the Chiefs, he is part of all the defensive ploys by Andy Reid. And his experience of winning Super Bowl thrice would also help them.

However, Andy Reid was also not aware of Jones’ injury during the post-game and said, “Yeah, It’s probably too early to tell right now. We’ll just see how he does here, but I can’t tell you that. I mean, he’s going to get the MRIs and all that stuff, so I don’t have any of that information.” Now that the MRI has come negative, the Chiefs can start assessing the injury at their end.

However, he was not the only player injured. Two more players also got injured. The coach must be feeling the heat.

At 3:12 mark in the first quarter, their LB Jack Cochrane got injured. Within the first minute of the second quarter, at 14:10, he was declared out of the game. While talking about it, Andy Reid revealed, “Jack Cochrane has a left ankle fracture, so that’s not a good thing, and then Jawaan strained his knee.” That’s worrying.

With the fractured ankle, the LB’s season has ended now. However, mystery shrouds the injury status of the RT Jawaan Taylor. Though the knee strain wasn’t much severe, the team will need to check if he could play for them in the playoffs. But there was good news too.

Their star WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown recorded 5 receptions for 45 yards in the game. Though he didn’t score any touchdown, he looked healthy. That’s a great sign for the Chiefdom. They want their team to make the history this season. And the team looks great if Andy Reid could control the injuries.
