It’s injury season in the NFL and it’s just too bad of a time for teams to leave their fans on a cliffhanger. Recently, Kansas City Chiefs featured receiver Rashee Rice took over the NFL world by a storm after contracting a serious knee injury in the LA Chargers game. He was supposed to go through an MRI today, but sadly, that wasn’t enough.
However, there are some other stories that we need to go over. Some of them come from the Indianapolis Colts and the other from Dallas Cowboys. Anthony Richardson, the Colts QB suffered a hip injury against the Steelers while Micah Parsons, the Cowboys sack machine, took an ankle injury in the game against the Giants. Let’s start with Rashee Rice.

Rice was hit, but by his own teammate, Patrick Mahomes, who blew out his right knee after throwing a pick. It was hectic to watch his knees hyperextend. Rice was carted off the field later. However, only one thought lingered in Andy Reid’s mind about Rice’s injury: “Not good.” The KC coach later confirmed that the second-year receiver will go through an MRI on Monday, and here we are.

Adam Schefter broke the news about Rice’s recent diagnostic and sadly, it’s not much of an update. Rice and the other stakeholders are looking for second opinions. The next course of action won’t be clear before the next week. “After further testing on Rashee Rice’s knee today, there remains uncertainty over the extent of his injury, per sources,” Schefter’s post on IG said.

Can the Cowboys survive without Micah Parsons if his ankle injury sidelines him for long?

The Insider further added, “After consulting with team doctors and receiving second opinions, more tests are required to determine the full extent of Rice’s injury and his recovery timeline. No answers are expected until next week.”
This is a very bad time for the Kansas City Chiefs amidst Isaiah Pacheco and Maquise Brown’s injuries. Luckily the Chiefs have Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore and Mecole Hardman to counter Rice’s absence. Mind you that Patrick Mahomes just found his groove after a long time, but it was short lived.
Let’s look at other major stories surfacing in the league right now.
What’s going on with Anthony Richardson?
The Indianapolis Colts’ won against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 27-24. It was the best game that Anthony Richardson was having in a while. But his happiness was cut short by two Steelers defenders in the first quarter. Knowing that they had a comfortable 17-0 lead by the start of the second quarter, the Colts sat their QB out and didn’t want to risk his injury even further.
What happened was, a defender tried to grab him from behind and he bumped into another one at the front. Richardson hit the ground on his right hip and the agony on his face was clear. He wanted to come back but the Colts held him back for the remainder of the game. He was supposed to go through an MRI test for further answers.
Well, the doctors declared him on a day-to-day basis with oblique and abdominal strains. However, he might be back in week 5 against the Jaguars. Hopefully, he bounces back. With that wrapped up, we go down to Dallas to see what’s going on with Micah Parsons.
Will we see Micah Parsons back on the field anytime soon?
The Dallas Cowboys linebacker suffered a high ankle sprain in his right leg in the game against the NY Giants. When he went after Daniel Jones, two of the Giants linemen were in pursuit and rolled up on Parsons ankle after taking him down. That resulted in a sprain in his right ankle, and he walked off the field with the help of his trainers. When Parsons arrived in Dallas, he was seen carrying his luggage, but walking gingerly.

“It’s tough being in this situation. Obviously, got rolled up on, but you know it’s football, things happen. I’ll be okay, I’ll be back, and I can’t wait to get back with my team and get rolling because this is just a small injury. Praise the Lord, you know, it was nothing serious and I just can’t wait to play,” Parsons said on The Edge with Micah Parsons.

With Parsons out and a lack of prognosis on his situation, we can expect Marshawn Kneeland and Chauncey Golston to fill the spot. It’s certain, though, that Parsons will not be playing in the week 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Dallas Cowboys confirmed their stance further by saying, “We are preparing to play without him [Parsons].”
The Cowboys linebacker was seen wearing a boot and riding a scooter. With that, the underperforming Dallas Cowboys are headed to the Acrisure Stadium next week to play against the Steelers. However, other sources suggest that Parsons might not be around for 2 games or so. The Dallas team is already 2-2 and Parsons’ absence might just be a breath of fresh air for Justin Fields, who’s doing a rock steady job of standing on his own.
