Jalen Hurts was spearheading the charge from the front this season. The star QB has now amassed 19 TDs in 12 games and has taken his team to 10 victories, but the 49ers handed the Eagles their second loss of the season.
In the game, the Eagles started on a good note and registered a six-point lead on the back of two back-to-back field goals by Jake Elliot. Right after, the 49ers made a roaring comeback and completely owned the second and third quarters. Hurts suffered a concussion at the start of the fourth quarter that awarded Marcus Mariota a golden opportunity.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the 49ers were leading the charge 28-13. At this time, Hurts covered 196 passing yards while securing one rushing touchdown. Right after Hurts was tackled down and was visibly slow in getting back up. He was taken off the ground in a hurry. As he was getting checked for symptoms of a concussion, QB Marcus Mariota replaced Hurts on the gridiron.

‘Fox Sports: NFL’ shared the news on X. In the video, you can see Hurts running towards the locker room after suffering from a concussion. Mariota took charge but couldn’t capitalize on the golden opportunity during his short stay on the field. Hurts eventually made a comeback after staying out of the game for 8 minutes, but it was already too late to get his team back into the game.
