The Tampa Bay Buccaneers stunned the football world with their victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. As the wild card game ended with the scorecard reading 32-9 in the Bucs’ favor, the entire team must have been overjoyed. But LB Lavonte David has another reason to be happy.
With the victory, this has set the squad up for the divisional round. Against the surging Detroit Lions, the LB can still get more of the incentives payment. How much has he already made and how much can he still earn in the postseason?

The 33-year-old is playing his 12th season with the Bucs after being drafted in 2012. In the offseason, David signed a one-year deal for $4.5 million. But his contract is loaded with incentive payments. And it looks like the senior member of the squad is going to cash them out.
He had already earned $2.5 million from the incentive structure due to improving his sacks record from last season. But the Pro Bowler earned $125,000 in just one game against the Eagles since his contract is structured in combination with game time and performance in the postseason.
David has participated in 85% of the defensive snaps, qualifying for the game-time aspect of the deal. And this combined with a playoff victory is worth $125,000. He can earn the same amount again next week, but the challenge is a tough one.
Another revenge on the menu
With the victory over the Eagles, the Bucs avenged their Week 3 defeat in the regular season. Now they face the Lions in the NFC divisional rounds. The victorious team will go on to play the NFC Championship match.

But, the Bucs need to get one more revenge on their path to the championship game. Since they lost to the Lions in the 16th October game 6-20. Both teams possess quality firepower in their offenses, hence it could be the defensive players, like Lavonte David, that can be the decisive factor.
