Joe Flacco is headed for double rewards on Saturday! The Cleveland Browns season had seemed to be lost. Their star QB, Deshaun Watson, had to bid adieu to the entire season. However, just when fans had given up hope, a savior appeared. He resuscitated the Browns’ team. What’s more, he helped them clinch a Wild Card playoff berth. And he definitely deserves a reward if he leads the team closer to the Super Bowl.
However, it seems he will earn two for achieving the feat. On January 13, the squad will face off against the Houston Texans. And Flacco will face his toughest battle yet. So, what are these two big rewards that are waiting for him at the end of the game?

The Browns have switched quarterbacks thrice already! And Joe Flacco is the fourth. They had signed the 38-year-old to their active roster in mid-December. As part of his contract, they offered him $75,000 for each regular season victory. But since the risks and stakes increase during the playoffs, the rewards were naturally higher as well.
So, what’s the reward and its condition? If Flacco wins the Wild Card round, his bank account will go up by $250,000. If he won the Divisional Round, he would become richer by an additional $500,000. Conference Championship? $1 million. And the prize for winning the Holy Grail? $2 million.
However, it’s not just Flacco whose payments are going to be dependent on his performance.

Two other players with contract incentives
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made it to the playoffs thanks to their QB Baker Mayfield. But he’ll need a few other achievements if he is to get richer by $300,000. If he earns certain rankings in various passing categories, the money would be his. What are those categories? Passer rating (10th in NFL, or fifth in NFC), passing yards (12th and 7th), touchdown passes (7th and 5th), yards per pass (12th and 7th), and completion percentage (18th and 8th).
Alexander Mattison, on the other hand, will get $250,000 if he reaches 800 rushing yards or more. If he crosses 1,100? He’ll take home $750,000. Currently, he has 676 yards under his belt. Will he manage to secure the necessary yards to earn those extra dollars? The pressure of the playoffs was strong enough already. Hopefully, these additional targets won’t make these players lose sight of the real one.
