The race to find the best head coach is on and the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans are leading the bunch. Amidst a long list of candidacies, the Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn has hogged a lot of spotlight. Now the Tennessee Titans are after him as well. The Titans had a dismal 6-11 season. After firing Mike Vrabel, they are trying to usher in a new culture of football in their team.

In the wake of all this hustle, some news has come from the Tennessee Titans’ X handle. The teams cannot interview anyone in person till January 22. So, the Titans are doing their best in the comfort of their office. The Dallas Cowboys on the other hand announced continuation in 2024 with HC Mike McCarthy, but the defense might be in a tough spot if Quinn gets an opportunity to upgrade his job and leaves the side after an overall good season.

Per the Tennessee Titans’ post on X, the team has finished interviewing Dan Quinn for the Head Coaching position. This was their fifth interview that they completed over a Zoom call. Amidst a long list of contestants, Quinn seems like a logical choice considering how in his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks between the 2013 and 2014 seasons, he took the team to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.

Not to mention his tenure with the Atlanta Falcons as HC, where he took the team to a Super Bowl in the 2016 season. To add to his long list of accolades, he has also worked with the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers. He spent his 2021-2023 seasons as the Cowboys DC and led them to be known as one of the most fierce defenses in recent football history.

Despite a plethora of achievements on Quinn’s part, the Titans are leaving no stone unturned and peeking at every opportunity that presents itself.

Who else are the Tennessee Titans eyeing for the HC position?

So far, the Titans have interviewed all the usual suspects over a Zoom call. Before Quinn, the team spoke to the Cincinnati Bengals OC Brian Callahan, the Giants OC Mike Kafka, and even the Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce. They also tried to strike a deal with the Baltimore Ravens DC Mike Macdonald.

The team finished dead last in the AFC South standings. In the 17 games they played, the team allowed 335.12 yards per game. They also rank second to last in terms of rushing stats, per NFL. Per Statmuse, the team gave away 5,697 yards in the 2023 season with 33 TDs. All this seems like reason enough for a change in coaching.
