Home/NFL

The New York Jets‘ catastrophic NFL season just keeps getting worse. And despite the team putting their hopes on their golden ticket, Aaron Rodgers, the QB, hasn’t been a saving grace. With injuries piling up through the season, Rodgers has been able to start the games, but most of them ended up finishing on a loss. To top the misery, the conversations around whether the QB will be retained by the team in 2025 don’t stop. With his documentary releasing soon as well, all eyes are on Rodgers. Everyone’s got some opinion and most of them seem divided. Support the four-time NFL MVP, or let him take the final bow? Fans are confused, but one insider has made his stance clear on the topic.

Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” That seems to be Aaron Rodgers’ motto in life at the moment. Ask him whether he is fit to play the rest of the season, and he will say, “I want to be out there with my guys and battle as long as I feel healthy.” But wanting to play is one thing, and being able to play and perform is another. Jets fan and an insider, Mike Greenberg has never shied away from being a critic. And he feels Rodgers is “just not the same guy anymore.”

Talking about the QB on the show Get UpGreenberg painted the picture of what the QB’s future might look like. “I’m not mad at Rodgers at all. I think he came with the best of intentions, I think he tried. He had two things happen—neither of which is his fault. One, he got older, which happens to athletes…Two, he suffered the worst injury that an athlete can suffer.” He also went on to say that, often great athletes don’t seem to realize they have changed. But what about Rodgers’ future in the NFL?

Greenberg feels no team will want to bring in the veteran QB in 2025. “The reality is I don’t see any team in the NFL looking at it and saying the solution to my problem is we’re going to bring in Aaron Rodgers, and we’re going to win the Super Bowl next year,” said Greenberg. A bit hard to hear when the person in question is a legend, right? But just like Rodgers, maybe the other teams, too, have not given up hope on him.

Will Aaron Rodgers be a choice for any NFL teams?

The question boils down to this – Is there no team in the NFL that would benefit from a veteran QB like Rodgers? The simple answer? Of course, there is. Maybe even more than one. Yes, coming into the Seahawks clash, Rodgers has only racked up 2,442 passing yards with 17 TDs and a whopping seven interceptions. And it is safe to say that the Jets can hang up the hope of making the playoffs after a 13-year hiatus. But all that aside, no one can deny that Rodgers brings experience, which many teams can benefit from. Did we mention he is a four-time MVP already?

Take, for instance, the Seattle Seahawks, who could very well offer the QB a place in their roster. They have strong players, but getting the veteran on their team would give them the experienced leader they need for a solid push. And who knows? Maybe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be missing Tom Brady enough to bring in 41-year-old Rodgers?

Whatever happens, the best thing right now for both the QB and the Jets is to keep their head in the game and turn the disappointing season around somehow. Fingers crossed!
