Let us tell you something, the season after the Super Bowl ends will be legendary. Why? Come on, did you see the ongoing hiring of coaches by the teams? Tug-of-war battles for keeping old players and signing new ones? It’s almost as if the NFL will grow a new leaf on its journey. First, the news of Brian Schottenheimer as Cowboys HC caught us off guard. And now, Pete Carroll is the Raiders‘ HC. A coach who had been loyal to the Seahawks for over a decade. Even led them to their first Super Bowl win. Seems like the Raiders are onto something really big.

Undoubtedly, Raiders’ minority owner Tom Brady is making some crucial decisions for the team’s growth. As per some rumors, he’s the one who brought Pete Carroll and new GM John Spytek to the team. Spytek, by the way, is the man who built the foundation in Tampa Bay that helped them win a Lombardi. It might be a lot to digest, but wait until you read what The Athletic’s Dianna Russini shared—she posted the unnamed GM’s thoughts on her X. “The Raiders should consider trading for Myles Garrett to pair him up with Maxx Crosby.” Indeed, that’s an intriguing suggestion.

The trio, Brady, Pete, and Spytek understand the importance of building the right team, as this is one of the key elements to win a championship. Perhaps, the situation right now at the Raiders is a bit damp. They had a disappointing 4-13 season, so there is no doubt they are desperate to make a comeback. Moreover, this suggestion of bringing Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby together might be beneficial. Won’t it feel like watching football heaven to see the duo going after QBs every Sunday?

Current Browns‘ DE Myles Garrett has been brilliant throughout his career. Since his rookie year in 2017, the defensive end has had over 100 sacks (only the 4th player to achieve this) and 352 tackles. He’s also the first player in NFL history to have 14+ sacks in four consecutive seasons, a feat he achieved this season. Pairing him with Crosby could do wonders for the Raiders.

Speaking of QBs, there was a buzz going around about Russell Wilson reuniting with his old coach Pete. They both helped each other to get their first Super Bowls back in 2014. But Russell cleared the mist by saying, ‘I’m focused on the Steelers.‘ With Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew both underperforming, the trio has a lot of missing pieces to fix before moving to Myles Garrett. Whatever it’s going to be, we’re surely going to enjoy the show.

Can Pete Carroll pull off the move as Myles Garrett betrays the Browns?

What’s your perspective on:

Can Pete Carroll and Tom Brady's Raiders revolution finally bring a Super Bowl to Las Vegas?

Have an interesting take?

Look, we have to respect one fact: If it’s your dream to win the Super Bowl and you see your team sitting at the bottom of the table, with no hope of an SB ring, you’d probably do the same thing Myles Garrett did. On Feb 2, he posted a statement requesting to be traded from the Browns.

He wrote, “While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton; it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.” But will that be enough to get him into any other team?

Perhaps, Garrett’s thoughts are valid. Since 2017, the Browns have managed to make the playoffs only twice (in 2020 and 2023). As for the Super Bowl, they have never reached it in their history.

It’s going to be even tougher for the Browns to hold on to him now. However, this might open his way in the Raiders. With coach Pete Carroll on board and Tom Brady as minority owner, Garrett might consider his future in Las Vegas. Only time will tell. And for the Raiders, it’s clear they’ve got a long road ahead if they want to get to a Super Bowl — no shortcuts, just hard work.
