The last season was a troubling one for the Carolina Panthers. The team finished at the bottom of the NFC South carrying a record of 2-15. Under such circumstances, there were bound to be changes and one of the first on the chopping block was the ex-GM. But can Dan Morgan be the new general manager for the Panthers?
Appearing in the playoffs only once since 2017, several changes are required within the Panthers. Owner, David Tepper, is not shy about these upcoming changes. But can a former player lead the Panthers to glory?
Dan Morgan on everyone’s mind

“As we move forward with the new direction for our franchise. I have made the decision that Scott Fitterer will no longer serve as our general manager,” said the Panther owner earlier this month. And soon after, the search began for a new GM. Amongst the candidates is Panthers’ assistant GM Morgan as well.
The Panthers have quietly entered their second round of interviews for their next general manager, sources tell @CBSSports. Current assistant GM Dan Morgan went into the process as a strong candidate for the role.

The Pro Bowler played for the Panthers from 2001 to 2007 and was hired for his current role in 2021. Now, the 45-year-old is looking for a promotion. And his current status signifies he might get the much coveted job.
As Morgan has progressed into the second round of interviews for the position. The owners like his ideas and this change could certainly bring some fruitful results. However, this is not the only big change happening at the Bank of America Stadium.
A new HC with the new GM
The Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich, the same year they hired him. Reich was gone within 11 games. Chris Tabor replaced him, but his record of 1-6 signifies that Tabor will also not be the one to lead the team in the new season.

Many big names have been popping up to be in the race for the new HC at the Panthers. The likes of Ben Johnson and Bill Belichick have also been linked. But OC Thomas Brown seems to be leading the race for now.
