After the game against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, the Cincinnati Bengals’ playoff dreams were quashed with a 25-17 defeat. With all eyes on the upcoming postseason, the Bengals will be prepping for their next season. And they have big decisions to make, with a dilemma surrounding their star WRs, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
The Bengals gave it their all this season but fell short after Joe Burrow’s season-ending injury. In his wake, it was Chase and Higgins that took up the mantle. However, as things stand, this dynamic duo might be broken soon.
Ja’Marr Chase could be alone next season

Both WRs have been playing with the Bengals and are the favorite targets for the QB. The 24-year-old Higgins was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Bengals, while the 23-year-old Chase was drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. But now it looks like their time together is possibly coming to an end.

Chase is up for a contract renegotiation while Higgins’ contract will be up. That puts the Bengals in a tight spot, where they can only pay big money to one of their star WRs. And Chase is most probably going to land that big-money contract.
“It depends on how much I’m taking”, said Chase when enquired about the possibility of Higgins returning next season. Though the long-term future of the WRs is uncertain, they have bragging rights to contest for shortly.
The Bengals fight for pride to contest
Paycor Stadium will be the venue for the final AFC North game, contested between the divisional foes, the Bengals and the Cleveland Browns. It’s coming full circle as this was the fixture with which the Bengals started their season .

However, the Bengals will want a complete turnaround in their performance. In Week 1, the Browns humiliated the Bengals, winning 24-3. But now the Bengals have a chance to get revenge in their backyard.
