“Shedeur is a very, very impressive young man. He’s a heckuva football player, that’s evident off the tape. But I was impressed with the person.” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski‘s words were very different from what some others had to say about one of the top QB prospects this year, Shedeur Sanders. The reason people have been complaining against the young Colorado QB is because he is a nepo kid. ‘My dad is Deion Sanders‘ – that’s all people can seem to read on Shedeur’s face when he is in the room. But what they keep forgetting is that he has an impressive resume as a QB.
Shedeur would not have expected to end the NFL Combine on a note where some coaches had an ‘arrogant’ opinion of him. But sadly, this is how it is. The NFL Combine provided an interesting insight into this year’s prospects. And the most talked-about topic has been an anonymous coach describing the young QB as ‘brash’ and ‘arrogant.’ It has got everyone talking about Deion’s son.
Recently, NFL Network’s Rich Eisen also chimed in on the conversation, along with NFL analyst and writer Daniel Jeremiah. “I didn’t hear anything in that way… Everybody that I talked to that visited with him there enjoyed being around him and said he had a good energy about him,” shared Daniel, who was at the Combine last week.

Eisen and Daniel also dived deep into which teams they think Sanders could land on. Shedeur, who was seemingly a top choice for this draft, gradually slipped lower, ending up in the 26th spot in mock drafts after the Combine, as projected by draft analyst Lance Zierlein.
The Colorado QB and the Miami QB, Cam Ward, are the only top QB prospects this year. Like many have pointed out before, Daniel also focused on Shedeur’s lack of arm strength and physicality. “Shedeur fits certain teams and certain offenses and certain environments. I think he’s got a chance to be a successful starter. But there are other places where they might say, yeah, you know what, he’s not physical enough,” said Jeremiah. “He doesn’t have maybe the arm or the physicality to play in, you know, like Cleveland. That would be an interesting one with him.“
Well, as the Colorado star gets ready for the draft in April, the league has shown huge support for the young QB amid all the Combine drama.

Despite Combine scrutiny, Shedeur Sanders finds support
“According to league sources, said QB coach seems to have an issue with ‘the culture’ of athletes who have broad fame and financial success before entering the NFL,” noted NFL Insider Josina Anderson about the anonymous coach who made these claims against Sanders. Well, it looks like Shedeur has suddenly become a villain for being Deion Sanders’ son. And in between all this, they are overshadowing the fact that he’s racked up 4,134 passing yards and put 37 TDs to his name in his 2024 season with the Colorado Buffaloes. That earned Sanders the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honor. The 23-year-old, before this, finished his 2023 season with 3,230 passing yards and 27 TDs.
So, amidst all this drama, the NFL has kind of shown its support for Shedeur. The league has put his picture on their official X handle banner. Now, whether it’s to extend their support to the young QB after the Combine criticism or just a random move, we cannot say. And we won’t even be speculating anything on this. Shedeur is one of the top QB prospects, and he’s getting a lot of attention these days, so their move kind of makes sense.
Sanders is getting support from others as well. Reporter and analyst Stephen A. Smith also bashed his critics, saying, “I’m fuming inside right now. What is he supposed to be as a quarterback entering the NFL? You can’t be insecure and still succeed. You can’t have doubts about your abilities and be successful as a quarterback in the NFL… He has a resume that validates and backs up his confidence.“

It looks like there’s going to be a ‘war of words’ on Shedeur. The draft hasn’t even arrived yet, and many already have Shedeur on their radar before he’s even been picked.
