Did Al Michaels just give us the funniest live TV moment of the year with Orji?

Hearing the word “Orji” on national television might not have been on your bingo card. Let’s not pretend, you might have chuckled at the silly joke that was made at the expense of Anfernee Orji on live television. Who wouldn’t? But the fans were quick to call Al Michaels out and make fun of the situation.

Most fans couldn’t believe what was coming out of the broadcaster’s mouth when he introduced the linebacker to the world. People were quick enough to take to X and spark a banter about the inappropriate innuendo. It made us notice that there’s some weird commentary going on this season, don’t you think?

Remember the JetsBills game? The fans absolutely ripped into Joe Buck and Troy Aikman for praising Aaron Rodgers on throwing a 20-plus yard pass to Breece Hall. Then there was a Cowboys game that Tom Brady called which also had some weird commentary in it. While it’s all fun and games for the fans as they watch the Broncos go against the Saints, Al Michaels got in some trouble a couple of weeks ago.

It was week three and the New York Jets were playing the New England Patriots. The usual thing happened, people didn’t like Michaels’ commentary and told him that it was time for him to hang it up. This is his 40 season in the play-by-play booth for the NFL as he regularly announces the Thursday Night Football games.

He has a 3-year $45 million deal with Amazon Prime and many people who don’t like his commentary would have to put up with him for quite some time. Let’s check out what the fans are saying about the broadcaster.

Fans take a dig at Al Michaels

Imagine hearing the words “Orji, b-ll and smother” in the same sentence. That, too on live television. You might just flip out. The same thing happened with a couple of fans who didn’t find the blunder to be annoying. How else do you pronounce his name? So, on the contrary, people thought it was funny for a change.

“Hold the f–k on; there’s a player who’s last name is Orji (pronounced how you think it is) I have the game on in the background and heard Al say the b-ll carrier was taken down by Orji 🤣.” The jokes didn’t just stop there. Another person heard something else that he found joke-worthy.

“Al Michaels said Smother & Or-y in the same sentence.” Well, Michaels’ commentary ended after the Denver Broncos blew out the New Orleans Saints in a 33-10 matchup. Next week, the Rams and the Vikings are playing in a TNF game and Michaels will be calling it. Hopefully, it will turn out better for him.
