“I can play tackle at an elite level.”With an attitude like this, Will Campbell has emerged as a hot pick for the 2025 NFL Draft. The young OT has tremendous potential, as seen by his CFB records. In 2024, the man performed admirably for the LSU Tigers, recording 866 offensive snaps and two sacks. So, where can we see the 21-year-old going? Well, while a lot of teams are interested in him, the New England Patriots are at the top. But in the last couple of days, there is again a twist in this story. Enter Ronnie Stanley.

Well, let’s start from the beginning. Everyone knows Stanley’s contract with the Ravens expired in 2024. So, this means that for the time being, the OT is an unrestricted free agent who will undoubtedly be getting approached by a number of teams. Ronnie has a current market value of $20.7 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid OTs in the league. And obviously, his game is well worth the money. For these reasons, Stanley is in high demand, and among teams the Patriots are the most aggressive for him.

Surprise, surprise. The Patriots that were rumored to have chosen to give Will Campbell a shot have officially made sudden changes. They have truly shifted their focus away from the youngster, and perhaps they are ready to go all in for Ronnie Stanley. But there is still one problem ahead of them. If the New England wants to get Stanley in their team, then they would have to compete with the Chiefs. As in the Kansas is also interested in signing the veteran offensive tackle. Perhaps we’ll witness a bidding battle between the two teams, and later Stanley will choose the way he wants to go.

On the other side, if the Chiefs actually sign Stanley, that would mean Will Campbell becoming a priority for New England once more. This thing is supported by many NFL experts who believe Campbell is an excellent choice for Mike Vrabel’s team. But what exactly is the reason? Well, the reason is actually Drake Maye. The young quarterback always has a challenging position in the pocket. And if the team has a terrific OT, the offensive line will be able to give Maye some much needed one or two seconds he needs in throws.

The Patriots’ decision to sign Will Campbell could also be a risky move. Assuming if the young OT works, the squad would be unbeatable; otherwise, this may be a huge waste of money. After all, the young OT is already in serious jeopardy for his arm length controversy. But does this controversy affect the New England?

The Patriots do not care about Will Campbell’s arm length controversy

The offensive linemen are the final group to have their measurements taken at the NFL Combine. And because of all of this, everyone had to wait about a week to find out Campbell’s arm size. And guess what? The most unexpected thing happened. Will Campbell’s arm measures 32 5/8 inches, that is less than what it should have been ideally (33 inches). Wait, does this imply Campbell cannot play?

Well, not quite. Actually, arm length indicates if a player is a guard or a tackle. And now because Campbell’s length is shorter than the average, several teams are evaluating him as an offensive guard. But are the Patriots considering doing the same? Interestingly, no they are not. According to new sources, the New England Patriots have a sizable fan base of Campbell back at the office. They’re continuously talking about him, and they’re pushing too hard to get him on their roster.

One of the reporters even stated, “See [Campbell] as a tackle — arm measurements be damned. Campbell has fans in the organization. The Patriots view Will Campbell as a tackle with the understanding that if length became an issue, he’d easily move to guard.” So this was about the youngster; what are your feelings on the matter? Do you believe this form of substance works?
