No one can argue that the Ravens played exceptionally well this season. On New Year’s Eve, they actually clinched their No. 1 seed. Most players were celebrating in the locker room, dancing and hollering. But there was one player who maintained a deathly seriousness. It was Lamar Jackson. He somberly told his teammates, “We’ve got more to do.”
He’s never been one to let success get to his head. The 27-year-old already has an NFL record under his belt. Lamar has won more regular season games (58) than any QB at his age. Jackson also knows that the real test is just about to begin. In the playoffs, he just has a 1-3 record. And his other stats are even worse. 4 touchdowns and an alarming 7 turnovers!
Nevertheless, if he does win the Super Bowl and become the NFL MVP, that will change the narrative. Mahomes won his second NFL MVP at 27. If Jackson wins it this year, he’ll also be 27. But he’s younger than Mahomes by 9 months. That means he’ll become the youngest two-time NFL MVP in the league’s history. But will he be able to do it?

On Saturday, the Houston Texans will pay a visit to the Ravens. He’s got all the support needed to win the game. OC Todd Monken is the best play-caller he could ask for. Jackson needs no help with his rushing game. But Monken has been especially focusing on his passing game. That should provide an edge to Jackson that opponents would not be expecting.
And then he’s got an impressive supporting cast. He always had Odell Beckham Jr. at his side. Now he has rookie Zay Flowers as well. He’s been giving it all for this season. HC John Harbaugh said of him, “Lamar’s always had a single-minded focus, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it quite like this.”
